I don't remember how CoH handles it. But in CO when someone deletes their toon you never know until you go down the SG roster promoting and demoting to see if you get the message. "Sarah has been demoted." or "Has been demoted." That seems the only way to tell that a toon is no longer even around. So would be great if the system could update the roster when people delete their toons. Also be great to be able to sort through the names in the roster by Handle as well. Would make promoting a person easier. Rather then going down the list one by one looking for that handle. And if you have over a 100 names. It becomes really easy to totally miss the handle's other toons.
