In most MMO's and other games today there are generally two sides, only recently has there been an "In-between".
Straight to the point, once your a villain (Or any alignment but more so for the lawless and honorless), in more immersive terms wouldn't it be everyone for themselves? Being in it for yourself only is a two way street, although you "Should" be able to kill your buddy and take his share you have to worry about your so called "Comrade" stabbing you in the back at any given moment and stealing the shipment for himself, leaving you dead. As depicted in many good movies.
"The Lady Killers"
In realistic terms living a life of evil-doings and making enemies (Or just a target of someone who wants to make a buck) of many people from adverse backgrounds has consequences, as does being a hero and putting a stick in the middle of a villains plan. Just how far will the decision making process go in this universe?
Keep Low. Move Fast. Kill First. Die Last. One Shot. One Kill. No Luck. Pure Skill.
I can't tell what you're trying to get to...
But I hope you don't mean that redside should be able to fight each other. Cause that would suck (And increase the number of griefers ruining our ability to do missions and such)
Revenge is motivation enough. At least it's honest...

It was difficult to put in terms, but realistically being yes, but more than that. Say you wanted to betray your employer because Evil Inc. will hire you on at an increased pay If you sabotage your current boss, reducing competition.
