Prop suggestions.

I am suggesting props for powers:

Atrophic Aura: a whirlwind of blades, swords or daggers.
Massive Melee: Giant floating fists grant melee attacks. 4 or 5 feet long,
Ranged attacks: physical objects like the giant floating fist above, but also cannon balls you point your arm, there is a brief image of a cannon and a BOOM, it fires a freaking cannon ball!
Orbital strike: Giant fist again, crushing evil doers from the heavens above. Likewise a giant Boot.
Protection sets[b] Ablative. with every hit you take pieces fall/flake off like when the Thing gets hit.
[b]Ranged:
a flurry of blades strikes the victim
Ranged 10 small missiles arc from behind you and strike the target, with a flurry of explosions
Ranged You use a whip. and it reaches all the way over there!
Melee Guns for melee, especially for massive melee, I was told no, but hey, I don't mind begging.
Commander pets animals that can scale up. this is quadrupeds and may not be possible as they require a whole lot of animation, but it would be nice to have giant white wolves.
Ranged Pistols or even a pointed finger that can fire machine gun bursts, it doesn't make sense but I want it.
Protection Nothing. no special effect. you're just that tough.

Seriously, I want a giant fist power set. and I want a pair of floating giant fists as purchasable pets. the fists could have several looks and come with accessories so they all could be different. I want giant gauntlets. But giant claws, or giant hands with cuffs, cuff links and a choice of rings would be fun. How about giant brass knuckles?

~~~My wife will not let me borrow a million dollars to pay MWM for my giant fists...so I must depend on your eventual charity.

The fixation on giant fists

The fixation on giant fists makes it seem like you'd enjoy the DCUO green/yellow lantern power sets. They have at least a giant fist/claws.

At least a giant boxing glove.

As for props. Transforming weapons for assault powersets (or if you have a melee/ranged set and have a ranged/melee tertiary) which would shift from a melee weapon to a ranged weapon and vice versa.

Wands, Staffs, and books for magic users.

Cards, dice, and possibly other game pieces.

Props that seem to replace hands, for arm cannons, swords, etc.

Things that look like (short term) summoned monsters. Like, wave your hands about or whatever then kachooom! A magic circle opens up and a giant demon pops out to attack!

A giant ghostly monster to hang out behind your character and attacks for you.

That's all the ideas I have right meow.

I really want to see a

I really want to see a satellite constellation prop. You can customize it to be from three to around ten satellites that constantly orbit around you. The reason I don't say one or two is because one satellite is a special use-case and would fall more into the animations accorded to shoulder-pets or one-pet commanders.

So with the ability to customize our particle effects, these satellites could be anything from daggers, to fairies, to chainsaws; maybe jedi training drones, spirit skulls or ravens. Whatever you customize them to be, these orbiting satellites would make a great prop to be our barriers, our ranged attacks, our heals, and even our melee attacks. I hope we see something like this in game.


I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.

Depends on what animation

Depends on what animation your emanation presents. If the spear is a wizard's staff with a blade, spells could be cast holding it upright. If it's an assegai he throws, that would be a different animation. But if it's a wizard staff whose wizard thinks of it as a rifle that shoots mana, then the rifle animation might be more appropriate.

She knows how to use a spear

She knows how to use a spear as a spear, as a thrusting weapon, but uses the thing like a 'wizard staff' to cast magic, yes. So, spear prop and one-handed 'staff' animation. Perhaps a 2-handed 'thrust' animation, for a particularly nasty attack, or even for an actual melee-attack with the spear.

You're right. a spear is a whole new set of animations. While it is a prop, its a two handed weapon with a pointy end.
Further MWM would need to add new animations for all sorts of things, like firing an energy blast through the point.
Still...
It is a worthy weapon to add to the game. I think the animations would be awesome enough to take it up myself.

I am likely misspelling, but the Naganata is a sword blade on a stick. That too is a whole new set of animations - but worth the effort.

People have previously mentioned chains, maybe with daggers at the ends...I like chains as props

Massive Melee intrigues me

Massive Melee intrigues me for some reason. Traditionally it was reserved for over sized weapons...but so many things can fit with this.
Whips, flaming whips, laser whips
Dual Pistols
Machine guns
Chains
Glowy martial arts attacks. "Boot to the head...for EVERYONE!"
AOE Darkness effects added to melee attacks, for my Black Falcon

~~I like glowy effects briefly lighting up the MM area of effect.~~

Fire effects for the AOE. Breathing fire upon their miserable hides, a short ranged energy projection
Lightning effects ala Star Wars. "Power, UNLIMITED power!"
a flurry of daggers or blades filling the area
animations for sonic attacks re-worked to use for MM AOE
BEEES! killer bees! The Red Bee LIVES! (DC killed him many times)
Throwing stars fill the area (throwing animation used)
stone spikes fill the area for earth/stone style heroes
Explosions fill the area (great for shaped effect hand grenades)
cold/ice storms
magma

That's probably one of the simpler animations to adapt from something else. You basically have the avatar take a "grounded stance" (if not moving), couch the spear under one arm (like a jousting lance) and then "fire" the spear with a recoil action through the spear into the wielder in a way that's broadly similar to the recoil "kick" of a shotgun (except couched under the arm rather than directly into the shoulder like firing a firearm). After that, it's mainly a matter of creating multiple copies of the "firing a couched spear" animation that involve different levels of recoil and recovery, doing everything from a lightweight "pew pew pew" sort of thing that's quick and easily controlled all the way up to MASSIVE recoil and recovery that looks more like firing a rocket from a (not so) recoilless rifle, up to and including doing a huge "muzzle climb" on firing (so lift the spear tip) and/or showing the avatar needing to take a step BACK to (help) absorb the recoil and remain upright. I got hung up on anvil

I got hung up on anvil summoning. I now want to make a character that is called Acme Sales Rep. Who can summons anvils for all her powers. Think fire blast in COH but with Anvils. Rain of Fire ==> Rain of Anvils. Just needs to appropriate black anvil shaped hole effect and a nice KaPang noise on impact.
