Project Hero's Hero Projects that need names!

I have a few character ideas stirring around my noggin that I have yet to get some good/actual hero names for. So I'll post them here under a project name with a description and hopefully the community can help me find names that fit. Okay? Okay.

Project Star Fall:
A strange alien weapon/super suit fell to earth and attached itself to a teenage girl. Kinda like the scarab from Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes). When not in use it reverts to a small star shaped mark on her person. Possible colors Red and White.

Project Visitor:
An alien ship crashed on earth, it's passenger survived and now is stranded on earth with nothing but it's survival suit (suit of alien power armor for use in hostile environments) and Galactic translator device which for reasons has English in it's database.

Project Sonic:
After an accident involving experimental sound equipment and an energy drink a hero was born! Has sonic speed (can't break the sound barrier), audio manipulation, can turn himself into sound waves, and can detect sounds and listen with his entire body.

Project Kaboom
Female speedster arsonist/explosives expert who blows things up because at her super speed perception the slow mo explosions are pretty. Villain, slightly unhinged.

Project Lifeform
A secret (and possibly evil) group of scientists obtained some alien DNA and combined it with human DNA. Now their test subject is loose! Probably more of an aquatic look and abilities for this one as I'm basing the design of it/her on Cure from Jade Cocoon 2

I think that's all of my unnamed ones for now. Thanks in advance for helping!

Well, thanks :D
Though these are mostly just came to mind I figured giving them a working name would be easier for people than saying "for the one with the..." And I'm sure there's better names for them.

I don't know. I quite like

I don't know. I quite like Star Fall. The Visitor sounds good for an alien super. Sonic is just classic sounding super name. Kaboom works if she's the type to be like Harley Quinn. It's a playful name for a character that seems like she'd be Harley + The Flash = Kaboom! Can also be that she makes tiny little sonic booms. Lifeform is probably the weakest of the names, however, seeing as she's aquatic in nature, maybe, Splash Down?

The visitor seems like it'd better fit a more 50s style alien than what I had in mind. Or some kind of mystic alien.

I'm unsure of using "Sonic" because of ties the name has to a certain hedgehog.

In my head I was referring to the explosive speedster as "Whizzy Kaboom" mostly for my own amusement. Just thought you'd get a kick out of that factoid.

And another working title for Lifeform was Leviathan based on "monstrous aquatic thing" as that's what she is but that name's super common.

For Project Kaboom - What

For Project Kaboom - What about calling her Montesa (its a honda motorcycle, I guess you'd say its somewhat dirtbike style you might like that)

Also Project Visitor could talk like bumblebee from the transformers when his modulator box thing was busted ?

I like it better that it knows English. Not necessarily all of it, but enough to get by. Adds a mystery to it. Why does an alien translator know English?

Edit: also bumblebee from the terrible movies who speaks in radio-speak? Cause the less I'm reminded of those movies the better.

Well yes I know that its from the terrible movies. I only ever saw the first in cinema but it did stick with me a possible good idea for a character that understands the language but can't necessarily speak it to use a system such as radio snips.

After all it would be the suit thats talking and it likely would have suffered some faults in a crash etc.

If it is the suit that translates, then maybe. But I'm thinking I'll play it as an incomplete and possibly out of date vocabulary.

I guess the problem with the radio snips with given enough examples other than just sounding a little odd they'd be able to say almost anything.

I thought about that one, also Sonic Bomber as a sort of play on that.

Splash Down made me think...

Splash Down made me think... there's Landfall, and Skyfall - perhaps Seafall ?

So long as you can avoid the possessive noun it should be good.

Reverb I like a lot. That's a good one.

Shockwave isn't too bad either (though is the name of a transformer) it's at least on the right lines.

Lifeform reminds me of

Lifeform reminds me of Species, the cheesy scifi horror where they get a signal that contains alien dna and instructions for hybridizing. They do it, she breaks loose and kills everyone. Then they milk the franchise by having her or her spawn (I can't remember) kill folks.

My pet theory on Species is that the aliens aren't evil, but rather, the combination with human specifically makes it dangerous. The aliens couldn't have known what our dna was when they sent the signal. This comes from the idea of heterosis, aka outbreeding enhancement, aka hybrid vigor. This is the phenomenon, mostly capitalized on by agriculturalists, of hybrids being far superior to either parent line. You'd think that (using arbitrary numbers) a father with an endurance of 3 and a mother with an endurance of 3 would produce a child with an endurance of 3, but with hybrid vigor, the child has an endurance of 7, and there's no other trait that balances that out, it's just flat out better.

This would mean the scientists that created Lifeform weren't idiots. They did build the cage strong enough to contain one of the aliens. They thought adding human would make it more docile and controllable, but instead, it made it stronger, faster, smarter than either the aliens or humans!

Unfortunately, I've had a hard time turning this concept into a name. Project Vigor sounds like a male enhancement pill. Project Heterosis does have a strangely sinister sound to it, despite describing a good thing, but may be too obscure. Hybrid is too basic, though for experiments, I often put a number or letter after it. Hybrid Six. Hybrid Delta. Etc.

Fair enough. Shockwave was kinda iffy for me too, but i thought I'd throw it out there. ????

That was an interesting read,

That was an interesting read, BiotopeZ. And while it's not based on the movie species I have seen said movie so possibly subconsciously inspired by a little. Though probably with less killing and sex with this character.

And hybrid is a really basic name but it's catchy. But would only work if the world at large knows about it's hybrid nature. The project probably won't be naming itself.

Just giving it a project number might work if there was a villain group I had in mind to have made it. Or if I mission built some for it. Having a bunch of scientists yell out things like "Look out, it's Project 626!" And such would work well even if it's called something else by others.

But that runs into the problem then of other NPCs calling it by the number too, which probably wouldn't be public knowledge.

I wonder if we can get it so that in CoT there'd be an option to have your character either called by another name (other than character name) or just no-name/unknown. Changing "Thank you, HeroName!" To just either "Thank you!" Or "Thank you, but who are you?" Or similar... Hmm.

I'm trying to think of

I'm trying to think of something the researchers called it before it escaped, because it would probably want to know who it was and would reach for any memories to help. A hybrid alien with a human could be a Xeno-zygote. Or just XeZy for short. Or maybe Zyx, for Zygote X, with X being the alien addition.
I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.

Xegote, a xeno-zygote? Zyno,

Xegote, a xeno-zygote? Zyno, a zygote-xenoform? Zyx sounds like it'd be pronounced like Zix? Zeicks. Which just makes me think of Zeist the home planet of the Highlanders in that terrible sequel.

But it having lingering memories of what it was called in captivity has potential. Then it could introduce itself Tarzan style.
