I remember playing final fantasy an summoning bahamut (think that's his name) to attack every thing on screen with a non elemental type that by passes all defence.
In Coh. Psi energy was the one thing that damaged most sets over all other powers in the game. What I'm getting at is that in the world of superheroes. Cosmic energy was the one thing that gave a vast majority of hero problems. Most of the time it took entire groups or someone else with the same ability to give heroes a chance to win. What's the possibility of this form of damage being in game? With all of the different combinations of powers.Players are gonna have access too. Shouldn't there be at least one power we should not have access to. That can hurt us all equally ?
We're not here because we're free. We're here because we're not free.
Thought there was a coiuple of enemies that did that. Un categorized powers where there was no resistance nor defense to.
But even if it wasn't or was, it sounds like an interesting idea to implement. Not for every main npc or villain npc but maybe a few select few that are notorious in storyline that strike fear into both sides.
Yep, and there was a chunk of the player base who hated it, because it made their characters feel weaker (I believe those who were mainly tankers/scrapper/brute orientated... other classes found it hard to cap out those stats).
I seem to remember that one of the "better" tankers for the original Hamidon raid was either Phantom armies being dropped from up high, or a Regen Scrapper....
yup.
Well, PSI attacks are generally something many heroes have problems with as well (ability to block reading of minds is common, but telepathic assault style attacks). Though, as I mentioned in another post, there are very few psychic type attacks and most linked to Telepathy.
Telekinesis is a psychic ability, but it never should've been PSI damage. It's generally blunt or lethal.
i wouldn't mind seeing something like this as an event (galactus' heralds arrive!)
and potentially pave the way for a version of 'incarnation' that involves access to a new-different type of damage/defense/buff/mezz... rather than power trees/enhancements/etc.

The Hamidon, if I'm not mistaken, had untyped damage.
There were others that lacked tags for vectors as my SR discovered rather quickly.
