Please Consider SSL

I'd like to suggest that the City of Titans forums be served securely via trusted SSL/TLS. This would provide a great deal of privacy and security for end users right out of the box and should be a priority for any website that implements logins. I could rattle off any number of reasons why I think it's so important, but I'll save it assuming you (the CoT/MWM technical staff) already know the costs and benefits.

So, to whom it may concern, I humbly ask that you please give it some serious consideration. Thanks in advance.

We cannot do that just yet

We cannot do that just yet due to the host we are on. We are migrating hosts shortly, so this will be addressed.

Has there been any progress

Has there been any progress on this? You cited your current host as an obstacle, but in case the cost and maintenance is too much to bear, look to the future because the Let's Encrypt initiative is underway. By this time next year, you should be able to get a trusted certificate at no cost. Their software promises simple certificate acquisition, revocation, and renewal.

It's the last public root CA the world should ever need. Words cannot describe the joy that filled my soul when I discovered it.

Just a heads-up, Let's

Just a heads-up, Let's Encrypt is now online and out of beta. They've issued more than 2,000,000 certificates to date. It's 100% free, 100% valid, and 100% trusted. You can't ask for much more.
