Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Players to craft vanity items

I was just watching the latest episode of death-march-to-the-parallel-world-rhapsody in which the main character learns how to make stuffed animals and gives them to his other party members. This got me thinking about CoT. (full disclosure: not much doesn't get me thinking about CoT nowadays)

We already know that we will have base items with utility and base items that will only serve a cosmetic purpose. And I was thinking that it would be interesting if some of those things could be craftable. Then I watched the episode I referenced above and another thought hit me. What if some shoulder pets, vanity pets, or even Commander summons skins(!) could only be obtained by crafting them? The recipes for making them could be random drops or could be for sale in the cash shop.

I think there are advantages and disadvantages to this:

Advantages:

Purchasing or finding recipes encourages further gameplay in order to obtain ingredients
recipes can be traded, improving the marketplace
unique and rare skins can provide a certain amount of pride and notoriety to the characters who have them
provides a never-ending potential to infuse new looks and also cash shop opportunities into the game
allows characters to make gifts to celebrate special events like Birthdays, Christmas and Valentine's day
Disadvantages:

This would guarantee that some aesthetic choices would NOT be available at character creation.
rarity of some recipes or ingredients could instill a sense of elitism if access to them is prohibitive; but then the same could be said for the existing enhancement system
the potential to be perceived as a money grab
Since we don't have any actual crafting skill in the game, the only thing that makes crafting a thing is going to be the rarity of the recipes and the rarity of the ingredients. I am also assuming that recipes in CoT will be classified as either single-use or repeatable. I propose that the recipes for these aesthetic items would be single-use only in order to maintain their value and rarity.

Thoughts?
I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.

I'd prefer less things to

I'd prefer less things to grind for.

Especially when it comes to an item that I'd want to complete the look.

To have to grind for the recipe then grind for the items is too much hassle for me. Especially when those items are all random chance.

Hell on the Dragon Ball Xenoverse games it's too much hassle just trying to get a thing you want. And in the second one they made it easier and you can still spend hours trying to get the thing you want.

So I'll say no thanks to the possibility of dumping hours and hours into trying to get a thing to then spend hours and hours getting the things for the thing to then get the thing I want.

Or spending hours and hours getting the money to buy all the things.

This is generally a good/interesting idea. My main "personal hangup" with anything even remotely like this is whether or not any of it would become what I call "permanently exclusive".

I have no problem with things that are hard to achieve in games like this, even things like the annual event badges in CoH that only gave you a window of opportunity once per year. But the thing that would bug me immensely about anything like this is if there was something that was only obtainable during a one-time opportunity. Anything that becomes permanently exclusive (even a non-game affecting cosmetic thing) where no future player ever has -any- chance again to get the same reward/achievement again simply rubs me completely the wrong way.

So as long as anything you're proposing here will always have -some- way for anyone to get it, even if that way is relatively hard, would probably be fine with me.
