Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

O! ye forum posters

An interesting bit of information gleaned from a Lord of the Rings Online forum post:

Quote:

Raiders comprise the smallest, by far, group in our game. PvMP players are far larger and even they are small. in fact together the two groups wouldn't comprise 10% of the total player base and never have (this is important. it's not a new thing, it's a long standing historical fact).

Forum posters comprise a slightly larger group than the combined group of PvMP and Raiders. However, Raiders and PvMP players make up the overwhelming majority of forum posters (More than half. Though raiders are the smaller group of the two (PvMP/Raiders)). So you have a tiny group, inside a small group that is grossly disproportionately represented on the forums.

Especially in the future, we all should remember that just because an opinion or viewpoint is heavily supported, or well-represented, on the forums does not mean that it matters much at all in the game.

And so did Darth of the Fez

And so did Darth of the Fez bring forth the quote from that forum unto this forum, and lo! the Titan forumites saw it and knew that it was good and true.

"The voice of the forum is like unto the cry of the hermit in the desert. It speaketh a truth, but only the truth of the desert hermit, and not that of the shepherds of the hills nor the farmers of the fields nor the dwellers of the cities, for their voices are dulled by their daily burdens. But the devs loveth the shepherds and the farmers and the townsfolk as much as they cherish the hermit, and keepeth them in mind even as they answereth the hermit's cries." So sayeth the Book of Fez.

I'd say it's more of a

I'd say it's more of a derivative work. It's difficult to top the original.

This is actually a well known

This is actually a well known fact (the effect, but not the exact magnitude which may vary from game to game).

True, but I think Darth's point (with which I would agree) is that it bears repeating so that folks here keep things in perspective.

Precisely. But easier said

Precisely. But easier said than done. Many times some one said something and someone else reply, "well no on the forum said anything of the like." or "majority of the people on the forum dont have such problem/comment/concern/thought.opinion/fact." It's easy to see the forum and think that is everybody accounted for but usually that is only small to miniscule ion some games, part of the actual population that consist of people that just happen to like talking together on the forum and who is there sometimes because their friend is there who bring a friend and so on until it's basically nearly become a few large groups of like minded people and seem to think they are the actual majority.

Its worth also reading the

Its worth also reading the comments on massively, where there are people arguing over the fact that it isn't just *raid* content, but also group content (ie teams of 5 size) that will no longer be really developed.

Posters on there complained about the lack of work that Turbine had done towards any group content that required more than 3 players... if that is true, then that *really* scares me, because to an extent they did their own self fulfilling prophecy... don't develop the content, the people who want it leave, then the developers go "See, there is no demand for it, so we won't do it".

Well that is no surprise... you effectively forced them out of the game...

Could you imagine City of Heroes with only the original taskforces and no further ones were added, because people stopped running them?

This happened to me

This happened to me personally, but I'm probably not the only one. A new (or new-ish) player decides to go and check out the forums and finds that the over whelming majority of posters have diametrically opposed opinions, play styles, etc and they leave the forums disappointed and return to just playing the game. That was late in 2005 for me, I ended up feeling like such an outsider I did not return to the forums until I was in the dual pistol beta. After that, I did start reading the forums again, but I was never a super active poster, even in the beta threads.

I don't think there is anything the devs can do about this, we as members of this community just need to remember, there will be more people playing the game who are not on the forums than those that are.

I'm going to venture a guess

I'm going to venture a guess that our particular forums are currently much less that way than most. At least that's the feeling I get from these forums verses others that I'm on right now.

Either way, I'm pretty sure

Either way, I'm pretty sure from things they've said that the devs are quite aware we are the vocal minority here, taking our voices as just one facet of a jewel that at its core is the vision they've had all along for CoT. I think they find our discussions, arguments, and rants informative as a sort of brainstorming, but not necessarily as representative of the player base as a whole. As Segev has said on more than one occasion, the real proof will be in what players spend time and money on when the game is live.
