As much as I loved City of Heroes (CoH), one of my pet (no pun intended) peeves was that character heads defaulted to Human ears. The early Amerikatt model required that I give her long hair to cover the *human* ears and then used the "Cat" ear model.
I hope that the great folks at TPP/MWM will take this into consideration and will make an earless face model so that cats, catgirls, bunnies/cabbits, and other characters with non-humanoid ears will be able to design their characters without *two* sets of ears.
Of course, giving us actual feline/lioness heads to start with would be even nommier!

This wouldn't just be useful for anthro characters, but also people going for the hard plastic mask look. My main example is Batman. Can't see his ears at all.
The more options the better.
always bothered me as well, and it would be a useful head model for more than just cat-girls.

I have no problem with this idea (ie the earless model), however *personally* speaking, I prefer my models to have ears as default, and then if i wanted to change them, do it later.
I think that this is more because I tend to rather quickly click through the character creation if I am unsure of the game.
Also, I can see a lot of players possibly going "click click click, done what I wanted", and then realizing that their character actually has no ears...
I can see City of Titans being renamed to "City of Earless" if "no ears" was the default option.
However, I can see an "earless" model being an option... as for masks/helmets... I can see two different ways of doing it, the "with ears" version (ie Jason style hockey masks, luchadore/fabric masks) and the "no ear" version (Iron Man, Batman, Vision, Ultron).

well, I figured when creating a new character the default head for a given gender would pop up. Most likely that would be a fairly plane human face/head with a normal looking haircut. Turning "off" ears would most likely be buried a few clicks in.

I'm guessing that by "no default ears" Katt means that the ears shouldn't be directly baked-in to the head models (like they were in CoH), not that the "ear" option shouldn't be turned on by default. I agree with that. It was odd in CoH that you had the option for animal ears, but couldn't remove the human ears. Characters with animal ears and human ears just look weird (especially when the animal ears are meant to be their real ears).
Exactly, Thunder_Glove! Having ears baked-on to the default Fe/Male head defeated the purpose of adding non-traditional ears (such as cat, bunny, or antennae). As was mentioned earlier, this would also help give a cleaner look to cowled characters and mechanicals.

Heck, characters wearing cowls or full face masks looked funny since the mask just changed their ear color.
Technically, would "no ears" need a "ears under cover" option? Or perhaps pick 'no ears' and use a slider to thicken that area to give the impression of covered ears.

I would so like this idea myself. One character I had an idea for but didn't "Fit" in what CoH offered was a mass of nanobots taking a humanoid form but fine details like ears was to hard for it. That and the power set for CoH didn't really work for a mass nanobots. I wanted something like the shape shifting morphing like plastic man or attacks like Venom/Carnage.
