Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

A new guy's question

Hey there, first time on the forum, but definitely keeping an eye on the development of this and the other revival projects.

I guess my question comes down to hardware issues, since I will be the first to admit, my 4 gig graphics card and non-fibre optic internet will not be the best of things when it comes to playing most modern games, let alone online. I wanted to know if this game was going to be graphically intense, as it were? I plan on upgrading (at some point, I hope) to a better graphics card soon, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

I do a DnD Podcast, which can be listened to here.

Additionally, I write up my sessions of a Teen Heroes game here.

Welcome to the CoT forums!

Welcome to the CoT forums!

The Devs of CoT are primarily using the Unreal Engine 4 to create the game. According to the engine's various "selling points" it's supposed to be relatively accommodating when it comes to running on less than bleeding edge hardware. The Devs themselves have said that they are going to try their best to balance the desires of the playerbase so that the game will look as good as it can without requiring you to have top-of-the-line GPUs or the like.

Just keep in mind it's probably going to be at least another 1.5 or 2 years before this game launches and when it does it'll likely be geared for being around at least 5 or 10 years after that. If you're serious about this (or other MMO games) in the future then don't expect a computer that's currently 8 or 10+ years old to be able to do well with CoT. Having the fastest internet is good (espeically for initially DLing the game) but while actually playing having the best PC you can have is usually more important. When most people say they have "lag" while playing MMOs it's usually things like the GPU, not the internet, that's the bottleneck.

Ah, excellent. thank you for

Ah, excellent. thank you for the information!

I'll keep my eye on it as the game develops and stuff, I know how development can be. From what I read about the planned mechanics, this is definitely looking to be my favourite of the projects, so I won't let it slip by my radar that easily.

IIRC our president runs what we currently have on an old laptop just to check that he can. It may not look very pretty and need the graphics settings turned way down, but it will run on some pretty old gear, there are limits however.

It's good to hear that you're testing your code with a mix of older and newer hardware. Obviously we would all like to see CoT push the limits of what UE4 can do but not everyone (including me) has a $5,000+ uber-machine to play games with. I would expect that the "minimum system requirements" for this game could (should?) evolve upward over time since we are talking timeframes of years here. But regardless I'm sure you'll keep things at a level that'll allow the widest range of hardware to be compatible with CoT at any given moment.
