Need a name for a marksman assassin

Basically a gunslinger who uses precision weapons and gear to make up for a lack of superpowers. The main inspiration of this character is Deadshot. Hopefully I'll make him distinct enough to have him feel like his own character.

Notes:

This character is a villain, as it should be obvious enough. Though I'm kind of hoping I can make him operate in a gray area, where he also kills criminals worse than him.

He has no superpowers. Just special guns, really good aim, and perhaps a grappling hook that helps him get to higher vantage points or escape in a pinch.

As for his appearance, his outfit his mostly dark blue with some red. He wears a mask that conceals his face and has a tactical eye piece that helps him line his shots. There is armor that's light and flexible, meant to be able to stop incoming shots though he operates under the idea of "don't get hit". He has wrist cannons, and a mid-range single shot rifle.

As for his backstory, I haven't fully fleshed it out but it goes like this:

Born in Titan City, he was an ordinary kid growing up in a middle class family. He always hated bullies, and fought them off when he had the chance either for him or for others. But they never went away. Eventually, they all ganged up on him and one beating forced him to change schools. But the bullies never went away, and this became something that would define his later years.

When he became an adult, he joined the military and served in the Army. It was there where he learned he had a natural gift for using firearms, that being deadly precision aim. Then he was deployed on the field in a faraway backwater country, and was unknowingly sent on a suicide mission where he was not expected to survive. Then, when most of the squad was in the danger of being captured, he was ordered to kill them to maintain classified information. He did that, and then quit to return home.

Not long later however, his family was killed. They were killed by drug addicts in the middle of a firefight, and they had no sin of their own. When they got away with it, he took it into his own hands. Secretly donning a mask, he used his guns to murder the addicts responsible for their deaths. Feeling nothing but satisfaction, he decided that he would turn his talents to more profitable use. From there, he became an assassin-for-hire and exterminated anyone for the highest payer. The whole world is dead to him, might as well make the most of it.

----

So with that, any advice when it comes to names and the character in general? I'd appreciate it.

A trio of Characters: The Judge, The Jury, and The Executioner

Edit: Desert Eagle would be great as a bird themed gun character.

you could name him White

you could name him White Feather.

Quote:

In the United States, the white feather has also become a symbol of courage, persistence and superior combat marksmanship. Its most notable wearer was US Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock, who was awarded the Silver Star medal for bravery during the Vietnam War. Hathcock picked up a white feather on a mission and wore it in his hat to taunt the enemy. He was so feared by enemy troops that they put a price on his head. Its wear on combat headgear flaunts an insultingly easy target for enemy snipers

This could be good even though he wears no white. But it would be more appropriate if he did.

Or you could just call him "The Expert", which alludes to Expert being the highest ranking of marksmanship in the armed forces, but would also be an appropriate moniker for an assassin.
"This is bad. The witness is too well protected. Our last three assassins failed."
"Then it's time to call The Expert"
I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.

I would suggest using the

I would suggest using the Nato Phonetic Alphabet

Maybe go for -
Zero
or
Romeo

etc - if they have a military background their name may be around a trait of theirs rather than their marksmanship for example.

The Expert is a really good name. I'd be very surprised if it's not in use by either DC or Marvel.

Thanks. And there is one similar instance of its use that I can find:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Expert_(1995_film)

But regardless of whether it has even been used before in comics, there is nothing legally preventing any player from making a character with a previously used and protected name, so long as the player doesn't also mimic the existing character's look and then publish or stream the gameplay for income.

I like the White Feather idea, especially if the feather is the only white he wears.

That is the name of a Marvel Mutant, who doesn't use guns :p

That said, as a player character, they should be safer from using such names, as long as they don't copy out right, which sorry, we all know, people will.

They did it in CoH, they do it in CO and hell, I've seen superheroes done in TOR :p

There's a gray area when it comes to names. Mainly because it's impossible not to use names already used in the past, examples:

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NamesTheSame

I remember hearing that names can't be copyrighted, only trademarked. So as long as you're not blatantly using the character's namesake, and is different while having that name then it's legal. Otherwise, you could just run the monopoly and sue anyone who uses the name no matter how generic it is.

The following are definitely

The following are definitely more comic-bookish names than many I've seen in the list so far, but here goes...

Best Shot (as in the dare: "take your...")

Hot Lead

Leadstorm or Lead Hail (probably more of a gun-fu type)

Red Dot or Red Spot (though that implies the use of a laser sight)

Tap Shot or Tap Out ("tap" as in a precision hit)
