I'm posting this so we aren't bumping other misleading threads to the top when we want to just discuss something or make an announcement here at the CoT forums.
UPDATES:
I have completed the NSR front page edits for the most part. I'm not completely happy with the look, but it will do for now. The main change is the 'click here to listen' button.
After a lengthy exchange with Loud City, the licensing agreement maintains we must use their launch page for the player / links to user players. I worked it out like this:
You only see the LoudCity web page for as long as it takes you to either launch the Web Player or choose to use your own player option. Then you are redirected back to our home page.
Feel free to give it a try and let me know if you have any suggestions. as it stands it is about as seamless as I can make it.
The radio station will go silent on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. It will begin broadcasting permanently (pending any occasional server issues or maintenance of course) beginning Friday night or Saturday morning on new stream servers. I've been putting in a lot of behind the scenes time on discussions and nailing down the realities of services vs. cost, etc.
I'm footing the bill on this, so as long as we politely throw out the occasional 'don't forget' tip jar / donations note on the air, we should be fine. I don't want anyone broadcasting from the station to feel like they *owe* the station for some reason. If you want to put in a donation or something that's fine, but keep in mind that you are performing a service for the station by being a DJ or show caster, or whatever the case may be.
Keep in mind also that this is my way of contributing to the community at large. Yes, some will argue this is that much more money I could be putting into the hands of the projects out there, but hopefully this will be even more than that by spreading the word and proving some entertainment and a 'place' to the people surrounding said projects. One of the reasons I think the live chat room is so important.
