My Supers

Cracked
Control/Mez/Support

Secret Identity: Samantha ‘Sammy’ Finnigan
Age: Appears 13-29?
Gender: Female
Height: 5’4 – 5’8?

Appearance:
A Venetian styled porcelain mask of a sleeping woman is the first and last thing noticeable about her. The mask has a series of long cracks through it. This is all you ever remember about the “hero” known as Cracked. Does she wear some sort of cloak… What is her voice like…. How old is she?…. Is she even real? Your memory is always very fuzzy after meeting her and you are very tired.

Cracked always wears her mask to prevent people from dying. A non violent person by nature she believes in justice but is bitter and lonely. She can only make friends with supers and even they have a hard time remembering anything about her physically. If they accidently see her… well they will be having the same conversation in five minutes. Cracked often fully covers herself in order to have any type of conversation. She also often resorts to writing instead of speaking to converse. She has accidently influenced people when she was just trying to convey a message. So you can understand the difficulty she experiences when trying to make connections to other people. She can’t talk to them, They can’t look at her, and her abilities make any form of real relationship impossible.

Powers:
• Seeing any of Cracked’s skin causes temporary memory loss and sleep. The effect wears off within a few minutes if not looking at Cracked (like once the eyes shut from sleep). The more skin exposed the longer and more powerful the effect.
• Looking directly into Cracked’s eyes causes not only memory loss, but the brain of the person starts shutting down. Organs ‘forget’ how to function. Most non supers cannot recover from this effect in time to survive. Supers generally being hardier than the average person might recover provided their eyes remain closed while unconscious.
• If not looking at Cracked her voice won’t influences actions, but will affect the very nature of a person. If she tells you to move faster…. your speed is increased, if she tells you not to die…. your body will regenerate at an accelerated rate, if she tells you to leave her alone… you are less likely to approach her.

Interactions with Major origins/powersets:
• The closer to organic you are the worse the sleep effects. Fully technologic supers are immune to the sleep effect but processing information takes about 20% longer.
• The memory loss feels like “brain fuzz”. You remember what you do, but not why. You remember Cracked was there, but can’t describe her. You remember you had a conversation, but not about what. Even technology based supers get a heavy “static” that corrupts data about her. No known images of Cracked exist… or maybe you just forgot that they do.
• Cracked can accelerate her own body if she speaks to herself. She can bring her own body to the level of a professional athlete, but not anywhere close to that of a super who has increased body function. (Silencing cracked requires having a unique super power or removing her mask to physically silence her.)
• Cracked avoids physical combat if she can. Mostly for the above reason, but also because if her clothing gets torn… more of her skin is exposed. This furthers the effects of her powers, something she tries to avoid. (Physical combat with cracked is like fighting a teenage girl… not really dangerous if you know how to fight.)
• If your character is blind the effects are halved. You move slower and feel fatigued. A blind hero/villain will experience intense pain where their eyes are/were if they are ‘looking’ at Cracked’s eyes. However they won’t pass out
• If your character is deaf or currently unable to hear her, she cannot support you or verbally influence you.
• If your character has hyper sensitivity to vibrations it acts as having both sight and hearing.
• If you have a willpower power set you have a 50% chance to ignore her commands (if you want to). If you succeed you still lose some motivation to perform the action. (Only give 80% effort)
• The cracks in her mask expose roughly 10% of her face. This is the basis of everything written about her. If she is fully exposed (like at the beach in a 2 piece) you could lose 2 weeks to a months worth of memory.
• She is highly resistant to mez and control sets.
• She only has barely above human resistance to elemental and physical damage sets. The quicker the elemental power or harder the physical damage set hits the lower her resistance. (Lightning bolts would suck… a developing hail storm could be self willed to last through.)
• The strongest type of character vs her would be a tech origin super strength, super speed character. Or an extreme range/traps burst dps build.

Backstory:

Cracked turn the corner. They were still following her. “Go faster”, she whispered to herself. Tearing through an alley at a speed a running back would be impressed by she vaulted some crappy mini cooper. Behind her the minis alarm went off and a terrifying crunch quickly silenced it. Whoever had sent these demons after her wanted her badly.
Cracked ducked and slid under a minivan. She had lost most of the demons almost a half hour ago. They were bred strong, but not exceptionally fast. This last one however was keeping up. Cracked stood and was knocked to the ground. Her head cracking against pavement as the demon pressed its advantage. Cracked prepared for what was to come, she had been bested.
The demon lurched sideways. She had made it…. She was in Titan City proper. The male hero punched the monster again. It’s outer plate like skin denting in at least 8 inches. Monster and man slamming into each other over and over. Each taking damage as blows were rained down. The hero collapsed to a knee as the demon landed a brutal hammering blow on his shoulder.
“Win! Win now!” Cracked screamed out in desperation.
The hero rose, clenched both fists and swung with might even he had never experienced before. The robots torso caved. Fluids and meat spilling out on the street. The hero turned. He was dashing, brave, and strong. Cracked smiled and rushed forward to thank him.
The man collapsed to both knees, clutching his chest….. Her mask had cracked around the left eye. They had made eye contact.
“No, not them as well! Not the heroes!” Cracked turned and ran. As she retreated down the road to find a place to hide she heard the man take a heaving breath. She hadn’t killed him, she was so relieved.
Cracked sat down. The man wouldn’t even remember why he had destroyed the demon, or that he had saved her.
She was supposed to meet someone here who was like her, different. She just couldn’t remember who, or why. Cracked composed herself. Shutting her left eye she stood up and began to walk. She would find her place in this city. She had to find her place in this city…. Otherwise the grinning man would take her.

Name: Mihaela “Red” Ragar

Name: Mihaela “Red” Ragar
Gender: Female
Age: (Born 1601) appears 12
Height: 4’5”
Weight: 60 lbs

Appearance:
The name ‘Red’ comes from her blood magic. She has used it so often her cloak is rust red color. Her hair is matted and a dark red in color. She is very thin and all sinew. You notice she has no shoes and her clothing barely resembles a burlap sack. She carries a rusty machete blade. Her blood forms a long handle and hardens as strong as steel.

Powers:
Controllable: Teleportation, Polearm combat, Blood magic, Tactile vampirism
Uncontrollable: Eternal Youth, enhanced speed, Visual reality perception (sees planes of existence, alternate dimensions, etc.), Empathy, Bloodlust

Background:
You walk into a back alley, you know the kind, the kind you get information in. A well dressed man nods at you. It is clear he has the information you asked for. He prides himself on not only giving you what you want to know, but what you NEED to know.
“You are ill prepared to face her. This isn’t some run of the mill super powered child having a fun time. She is rumored to be an illegitimate great granddaughter of Vlad…. Yeah, that Vlad. It would explain several of her powers. Here is the part you are really paying to hear. You can’t tell what she is up to because neither can she. Think of “Red” as an unstoppable storm that happens to look like a little girl. As far as origins go, note her as mystical. Magical barriers don’t seem to stop her, but the ‘whiter’ the magic the less likely she is to go in that direction or fight its wielder. My sources think it’s because she is somewhat blind to white magic. Her body just notes the area as a non entity so won’t travel in that direction.
Whatever you do don’t go in swinging, she won’t even realize you exist, she will just respond. Her strength is average, but her polearm skills are exceptional. We think it is how the blood is channeled into the polearm.
Her body is attracted to violence. No matter where her mind is, her body travels in the direction of violence and death. At the same time her mind is pulled towards sources of magic, all through space and time. That is why she is here, and twitching around so much. Titan City has the biggest, the baddest, and the most deadly beings on the planet. It also has insanely strong sources of magic. We can’t seem to figure out what will actually stop her yet. I’m going to suggest trying to throw her in a volcano… I don’t think anyone has tried that yet.
The good news is she is completely insane. Not the ‘blow up the world’ insane most the big bads go for. She is the talk to squirrels, follow a butterfly, talk to things that aren’t there, or maybe were, or will be there level of insane.”
The man shrugs at you, if the answer you wanted was easy, ‘Red’ wouldn’t be on the streets.

Personality:
‘Red’ is only half there at best. She will talk to someone who died a thousand years ago, or who might be born in 500 years at the same time her body fights at full force. The two aren’t often fully connected to each other. Only a half dozen times has she ever fully been in both reality and in control of her own body. One such time spawned the story of the Little Red Riding Hood, the original version. The version where the town hero called “The woodsman” was ripped limb from limb by a girl as vicious as a wolf. The woodsman was comparable to a modern day Hercules. Surviving countless battles with awe inspiring strength and fighting prowess. He did not survive Red wanting to fight the best warrior in the region. This was within the first forty years of her life.

Origin story ---Arch---

Origin story ---Arch---

The fire raged outside. “It isn’t time yet, I can’t present him to the city in this state.” Mr. Divi rushed about his shop. The orange glow of the approaching fire casting the name of his shop across the back wall. ‘The Clock King’ letters shadowing anything they fell on. The man rushed past a corkboard on his wall. A note pinned to it saying ‘You will win in 1910’ with a picture of the worlds fair from 1907.

Mr. Divi rushed into his back room. Tearing the large sheet off of a bulk he exposed a glistening metallic man. The only flaw in his pristine frame the engraved letters A.R.C.H. “Oh my clockwork man, we must move you before the fire gets here!” Mr. Divi took out a strange looking key. Opening the face of the construct he inserted the key into its skull framework.

The windows of his shop shattered. Mr. Divi heard voices “Get what you can, we gotta move. Take the expensive stuff, This old man has to have some money he forgot to take with him when everyone evacuated.” Mr. Divi looked around wildly. He didn’t know what to do about the looters. Without thinking he rushed into the main room to yell at the men to leave.
A.R.C.H. saw. What was this in front of him? It reached into his face. A.R.C.H. felt something twist again. ‘Now accepting programming’.

“Arch, my arch.” Mr. Divi clutched his side. He was suffering a heart attack. The excitement of the looters had been too much. “I haven’t finished your mind, but this will have to do.” Mr. Divi knelt, he was having a problem breathing. “Protect the future of the bay settlements. Never stop. Don’t kill. Fix anything you can. Grow as a…..” Mr. Divi’s eyes closed. Arch watched as the fire bit at the front of the shop, devoured the doorframe, and eventually engulfed him.

“ ‘ey.. Mike, looka this!” The two men inspected the giant construct. “Whatsit do?” The other man shrugged. “Metals gotta be worth somethin’ “ The men grinned at each other. Mike reached towards Archs head and pulled. The key finished twisting. ‘Programming accepted’. Arch stood.
The pitted frame was beginning to rust. ‘Metal is worth something’ Arch grabbed the crowbar out of one of the organics hands. His arm superheated the crowbar began to melt. Holding the melting metal over one of his rusting area it fused to his frame. ‘Grow’ Arch looked at his new addition. ‘Fix what you can’ Arch had to fix himself.

The construct walked past the two men and into the night.
