Multiple parts

Multiple limbs does not seem difficult to do, but time and resource consuming. Also, this has been discussed ad nauseam. So I was thinking about heads. What if there were head costumes that contained multiple heads which really couldn't be customized because it is a head piece itself.

One thing I noticed is perhaps bodies may not be built for multiple limbs or heads. However, Goro at times looks as if his is attached to his back.

As for animations, maybe have the limbs do little to nothing at all. Maybe the fist clinches during a attack, "simple" stuff like that. I just feel like someone will do this at some point. It is inevitable. Crowfall and the great mighty Valiance Online are allowing players to have quadrupedal body types. You can even be snake people in Valiance Online!!!! Or at least they said you could. And my excitement was sarcasm in case anyone was wondering.

As a child, I thought my name was handsome, cause that is what everyone called me.

Technically speaking there

Technically speaking there would probably be nothing that would prevent MWM from producing "atypical" body models with two heads, four arms and so on for CoT. The main issue of course would be the time and effort to produce an entirely new body model with all the associated animations and costume items made to work worth it. It's one thing to come up with say a static wolf-head that would act pretty much like a helmet on the standard human models but it's quite another undertaking to make a new body model with new numbers of moving limbs/parts.

I think the Devs have even suggested that they might be open to creating new body models for CoT in the future but I would honestly not expect them anytime even Soon™ after launch. It's possible that they might sell something like that as a "purchasable unlock" in the in-game store but given how much extra work we're talking about here to implement an entirely new body model I would not be shocked if something like that could easily be worth $50 if not more.

P.S. I suppose if you didn't mind your extra limbs looking hyper-cheesy and almost obviously "fake" then the Devs might be able to make some "static" parts in the same vein that the classic BBC Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy TV series did with one of its characters:

Now obviously those old BBC shows didn't have a huge budget for "special effects" so the extra head and arm on this guy looked laughably fake because they were clearly just props attached to a "standard human" actor. In the pic above they had another guy hiding behind him to "move" his third arm but in other scenes the third arm was tucked into his jacket Napoleon-style because again it was just a prop. I could see CoT being able to do something like that fairly easily all things considered.

One extra head would

One extra head would necessitate that you either "hide" the real head thus making that "helmet" take the place of both reducing the looks significantly, or you just add to it and have the added head be off-center and perhaps "forcing" the looks of the "real" one due to not having anywhere near the options for customization as the real one.

As for arms, I'm not sure it would actually be worth it if the arms where just there and did hardly anything at all. I mean, most people would most likely not select them if they can't be included in animations and such, nor costumed in the same as the rest of the body.

As Lothic started on, making the body model will take resources but so will also adapting every existing costume piece and animation that uses/interacts with those "extra" limbs. There would also essentially be a "permanent" increase when making new animations and costume pieces since they would need to adapt them to every base body type. MWM has stated this in previous threads and so far they don't see it as financially viable since historically not that many players would actually use it.

more than two arms or legs

more than two arms or legs means that you would need to animate them and add them for every possible animation in the game. Two heads however can probably be done the same way CoX did the pirate hook. Your actual head is invisible and in it's place are the two heads. I don't see these heads being all to customizable, making them premade, but it can be done that way. might be screwy with eye lasers or fire breathing but if you had the hook hand in CoX you could still dual wield pistols and swords so that shouldn't stop them.

I could see them doing Doc

I could see them doing Doc Octopus or CoH's Crab Spider arms as a prop far down the line. Something that could animate with your powers and become an emission point. But a whole new rig with extra arms would require SO much work. Not just animation wise, think about trying to get costumes to fit on it.

though as long as we're talking about Doctor Octopus, I think it would be awesome if one of those arms was used as a tail like Black Scorpion from CoX

Yes, it's time-consuming to make a new model, but I think 4 arms is common enough to be worth it.

Insects, so many strongmen, mechs. I honestly think going that inch would be worth it.

Making the model is easy/cheap compared to adapting every relevant costume piece and animation, couple that with the increased cost when making new such animations and costume pieces, and it's fairly likely that it's not a financially good choice at present.

While I would love to have many more choices in bodies than just a standard humanoid one I don't think they have the financial means to support it while making it actually attractive to use in the long run.

I'd compromise by saying that a "4 armed humanoid" would make sense as one of the first new body models they could work on ONCE they get around to the point where they have the time and resources to spend on making an entirely new model. That still might mean it's years away from happening but it ought to be one of the first when that time comes. ;)

It's also not as easy as 1 4

It's also not as easy as 1 4-armed rig, it would need to be a 4-armed Male rig and a 4-armed female rig.

Yeah that's a good point. For the sake of "fairness" any new body model that's still vaguely "humanoid" would have to have both a male and female version. This probably would not be as much of a problem if they were making say a four legged cat/dog type model.

One easy way to do it could

One easy way to do it could be like From Software did http://darksouls2.wikidot.com/darklurker] Darklurker. He has four arms, but the lower two are permanently crossed (because he's THAT disappointed in you ;) )

Basically just a costume piece with arms stitched on. It'd look pretty 2006, but I think that niche would appreciate it.
