Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

Martial arts and weapons.

I'm really into martial arts, particularly those that involve the use of weapons. (Particularly, particularly swords.)

Any weapon martial artist worth his salt would at least be comfortable using his bare hands as well as his weapon of choice.

If I were to make a character around this concept, could I combine weapon forms and unarmed forms?

-unarmed martial arts and melee range weapons
-unarmed martial arts and range attacks(including gun play)
and finally
-unarmed martial arts, use melee range weapons and range attacks

Uh ... you do realize that animating unarmed vs armed melee attacks requires a whole new set of animations, right? And then there's the fact that different weapon classes would need to have their own animations (sword vs polearm vs flail vs 1h vs 2h vs so on and so forth). And let's not forget the "classic" differences between slashing, bludgeoning and piercing types of motion animations.

What you're asking for isn't exactly ... trivial ... as far as art development is concerned.

It's possible they'll come up

It's possible they'll come up with a "generic" martial arts powerset with a mix of armed and unarmed powers. Then they might offer other secondary martial arts power pools that would let you further customize the mix of ranged/melee/armed/unarmed powers that you want.

But of course that's all just speculation at this point. Ultimately whatever freedom we have with this will have to be game-balanced. At the very least they'll have to make sure that we can't end up making a character that's too good at both ranged and melee attacks (an overpowered Blapper, if you will).

what I was thinking was that each melee weapon set have 3 or so alternate martial arts kick animations it could be the same 3 kick animations modified however much is needed to work visually with the weapon set hopefully that should not require a change to hand wielding

supposedly we're supposed to be able to have small amount of range options for our melee toons I just want the ability to have all those things in one toon

From what I'm aware of, this is going to be how they are going to try to handle powers. I'm pretty sure their going to let you add in some unarmed moves if you really want to.

So to be clear a goal we want to reach is to provide players with the possibility of customizing animations for many powers. With regards to the specific topic of marital-arts and weaponry, it may be possible that hand-to-hand combat style animations and weapon animations can be swapped, and alternate animations involving being armed and unarmed (a kick with no sword, a kick with a sword).

It is no trivial matter by far, one which may not be possible at launch, though my hope is there will be some options available by launch (but I'm not an animator). As with almost every aspect of the game design we build for functionality and expandability. Functionality allows us to launch, expandability allows us to build atop the foundation without having to breakdown the foundation and rebuild anew.

I don't think anyone thinks it will be trivial to do I think we just want to be reassured that this isn't something that has been forgotten :)
