Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Making powers more unique

Hi,

I've been thinking about this since I heard of CoT. One thing I always found about a lot of games is that all powers and skills are very 'samey'. It would be good if you could modify them in some way, for example:

You have energy blast. You change the colour to green and it comes out your hand when you punch. That's great customisation but it's still the same energy blast that everyone else uses. What if you could alter the power in some way. In the Blood of Heroes RPG, for example, you can alter the power to either cost more or less to buy, depending on whether or not your power is a limitation or not.

For example, you have 5 power points to spend.

You buy energy blast : 1 point
You add range to it (so it can hit at long range, like a snipe attack) 1 point
It has AOE - 2 points
You want it to ricochet - 1 point)

This means your power is still an energy blast but it won't be exactly the same as the other energy blaster guy you're teamed with.

It gives more tactical play as well. "I'll take on the armoured guy as my energy blast is geared to that sort of opponent...."

I do appreciate that this will make things complex to design and implement but it would add a level of customisation (and complexity) not yet seen in any MMO I've played.

I don't know how feasible this would be (or even IF it would be feasible) but I'd like to think it's a good idea... :)

YES!!! THIS!!!

YES!!! THIS!!!

This would be awesome! Now this is the kind of customization that they should bring to the table! Dare I say, I think this may be in mind. Oh how I hope!

You might want to check out

You might want to check out this thread:

It has some of the details on how powers are being put together. This one gives a bit more clarification:

I didn't want to bring up

I didn't want to bring up this level of customization because I felt it was outside CoT's capabilities. Then I remembered that one of the Devs had said 'you're thinking too small.' I'm an old Champions PnP player and this is straying into that realm. So yes...being able to 'build' a power would be nothing short of awesome. Examples:

(Using the Energy Blast example above): Figure that the power has several components including damage, range, End cost, recycle time and Knock Back. Now if we were able to get 5 'build points' every time we have a power then you COULD spread them out, put one point in each category if you wanted. Or you could put them ALL into range and hit targets out to the horizon with your lower-damage, slow-recharging blast with little to no KB costing lots of End. Or you could put them all into KB and essentially build a single-target version of Gale.

Powers that had an AoE could be the same way. You could have lower damage over e HUGE area, higher damage over a smaller area or any combination.

This would be HUGE if they could do this because they could literally allow players to build virtually anything they wanted off of a small number of powers. You could also do it the other way with a Deficit system. Say your Blast has a Recharge of 2 seconds. if you took a Deficit to make the Recharge 4 seconds, you could get an additional Build Point. You could build a massive sniper blast, a normal blast with LOTS of KB or whatever.

Sorry...Geekgasm...
