hi, good day for you. I'm playing atm a super hero mmorpg call champions online, in this game they have a option in character customization which is the freeform hero. the freeform can use any power, talents passives and other things of the entire game, is difficult to create good builds but when you learn is funny (i creating a female dante from devil may cry now). For what i see the character creator of city of titans is much better in the character customization but i dont understand how to use power in the map or how to chosse my power in the finals options in creator (in 30/12/23). I know this game is inspired by city of heroes, i only play him in private server because i was very young when he ends but in the private server i saw many power sets ( I select titan weapon and invunerability) but i can "escape" the two basic power set, which make me forget the game. I konw city of titans is another game is the best character creator i play and i will love to see new updates in the game but i think the game can have much more gain and freedom if you look for this "freeform" mechanic, i konw in champions online this status is behind a giant pay wall (expesive slots in market or a more expensive subscribe). you dont need to make this wrong paywall, but use this mechanic the CoT can atract more player than ever. what you think ?

limits of character power customization
It sounds like you're asking for City of Titans to have or feature some form of power-mixing similar to what Champions Online attained with Freefrom Archetypes/Builds, Tyroke. Which if that's the case, I believe this question/suggestion has come up in years gone by and at the moment power-mixing isn't something thats being looked at (or probably ever will). City of Titans strives to be most similar to City of Heroes rather than Champions Online, so it would make sense that more is done to look and feel familiar to the former rather than the latter while simultaneously being its own, independent entity. I believe the idea going forward is to ensure power and character customization is enough via mechanics such as Aesthetic Decoupling that power-mixing isn't going to be needed. On top of this, players will be able to branch out into a Tertiary Power-Set (which may or may not being put behind a paywall) so you'll be working with a Primary and Secondary power-set and an optional third one as well. This is even mentioning the Travel Power progression tree(s) which exist on their own leveling paths that don't pull from the Power Point pool you'll be using to upgrade and enhance your fighting powers.
Having played Champions Online from 2012 to, well, now albeit off and on, I've seen Freeform Archetypes change in a variety of ways. Balancing issues were always the biggest hurdle on top of various damage types, buffs, debuffs, and other power effects that made the term "Freeform" partly ironic. You still needed to fit within a niche framework in order to actually benefit from buffs granted to your character and others through Slotted Passives, Energy Unlocks, and Forms. The only reason to keep playing Freeform in CO was/is due to pre-built archetypes having questionable stats and power choices that can make leveling a coin toss to whether or not its tolerable or not.

thanks for the awser. You make me think about freeform, i have bat time to create a good build for my solo activities and this can limited the power system in pvp or more hardcore end game because the dificult to make a balanced in the power awais make some more powerful than other. im nood good with pvp and never care a lot for it but if i imagine world of warcraft where you can create your own class with mix of all others it will be a chaos, people will go to websites to search the best builds and the meta, and the ideia of having fun is going to zero. I played city of heroes in private server but i liked a lot, i dont remember right now if you can select secondary archetypes in "primary" or vice and versa ? like create a charater only with passives buffs archetypes like regeneration and some damage over time auras, like a strong guy with regeneration and strong toxic auras and other debuffs. freedom is what i like most in super hero mmorpg, and i realy love my baby trex with long legs character, never see such gorgeous "thing" in my life.
Well, I imagine its going to be difficult for there to exactly be a "meta" in City of Titans. Like the Old Game, Primary and Secondary power-sets are bound to have their respective strengths and limitations, but virtually nothing that can be outright exploited in anyway just so people can score high numbers in PvP (which will exist in a separate instance/zone away from people who fully intend on playing PvE in order to prevent from player griefing). The Old Game (CoH) certainly does have Primary and Secondaries power-sets you choose as its required to even leave the character creation screen in order to enter the game world with a new character. Passive buffs and so on in the Old Game existed largely in the form of a true passives that didn't require you to activate or turn them on or Toggles which you clicked on and they ran in the background, but still could be turned on and off (or would turn off themselves if your Endurance ran too low). The main goal in City of Titans is to strive for as much player freedom as possible.

With Tertiary power sets and masteries also, not to mention refinements and enhancements, there is a potential to create some highly focused builds or some builds that have few weaknesses. But until we know what all those will be, its all speculation at this point, and TANNIM222 has stated that these are concerns they know they are going to have to account for as they develop these things.
Personally, I like the idea of creating a character who is highly specialized in a particular damage type or playstyle. I also like the idea of creating a character who opts for more utility and has a tool for every occasion. I'm looking forward to a game system that allows me to create such wide breadth of characters by mixing and matching the three tiers of power sets and masteries.
I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.
I think pvp will be hard to balance all combination of passives actives of every combination if the "freeform" come one day. Stoping for think, pvp in Co is dead, i never find a match and only see people play in duel, i not a pvp player but i find some mechanics of objectives fun like some maps in World of Warcraft, but it aways have the famous "meta" and i dont like play with meta, thats is maybe my innocence in make my builds for me, when i dont think in meta i dont care about numbers only fun but people will find a way to exploit and i dont want to see city of titans have this problem.
