So, this is all new tech and software. So, let's see how it works and how it breaks!

In testing the forums and clicking 'reply' there is no auto-fill of the subject line? Not a big deal but just something I'm used to.
Doesn't look like pics are showing directly in the post just yet. I tried a Skydrive pic and it was just a link.
Oh yeah, and hello everyone. Very excited to be here and anxiously awaiting the kickstarter.
On a side note, I see my formatting is not staying as there are no line breaks(using Chrome).

There's a *lot* of polishing to do. Let's try a double return...
and see what happens.

The problem with turning on titles for each reply (called a comment in this software) is that they autofill with the first few words of one's comment.... and that looks horrible. We'll see about finding forum plug-ins which make comment titles only appear when filled in by the poster.

Are links to photos supposed to show as photos in the post or just as links? And if a photo, would you see it in the Preview as well? Any limitations such as file size or format(jpeg, png, bmp, etc)?

Double returns aren't working for me, but the first post in the intros thread has line breaks. Also, in the 'new and updated threads' page, I can see threads that are in the dev-only section.

We're two years from what we hope will be Beta!
However, between now and then we hope to get out as separate out-of-game modules the Character Creator and Base Builder.

I can't see your images, just the URLs for them, Zombie Man.
Additionally, I dislike how the individual poster profiles appear to take up an entire horizontal bar before the actual post. The links and poster info stuff make the actual post content hard to find.
Furthermore, it looks to me like there is no separation between post and signature.

Testing. Nothing fancy, just testing.
No progress on the paragraph breaks or the issue with quoting eh? Hmmm.......
I've nothing better to do, so I'm test posting too to see if my sig shows up. Oddly enough, I appear to have been migrated over, I didn't have to load up this avatar. Then again, it's three gens old as I keep changing it. Anyway, that's enough testing for now.

I'm not sure if you are aware but when I visit this site from my tablet and try to view the forums without logging in, I only see the first post. I logged out on my desktop(using Chrome) and tried viewing threads but again I could only see the first post. I do not know if this is intentional or not but could prevent a lurker from getting some good info if they are on the fence about joining.

My signature does not appear to be showing up.
People who do have signatures have their signatures looking like part of their post.
Edit: It shows up now. Still looks like part of my post, except that I have it note that it isn't.
Edit 2: Initial posts in threads I started do not appear to have the signature, now that I've added one. This appears to be true for Zombie Man in this thread as well.
Edit 3: I put in a URL in a post, but it was not automatically converted to a link. http://missingworldsmedia.com/forums/
Edit 4: The buttons below a post (quote, edit, reply, delete) are weird - they look like they're supposed to have icons but the icons are hidden behind the text.
Also, the main forums don't have easily distinguishable "read" and "unread" post markers. At the bottom of the forums, it shows a star and a grey folder as the two options, but when I look at it, the folders are all the same, but some have grey stars. I can tell what it means, but it's not very visually different.
Furthermore, I hope there will be a better posting interface - I have a basic understanding of what tags do, but people that don't will likely prefer the ability to just press buttons to make things italic (or whatever).
I also hope that the line breaks issue works retroactively, because it would be a shame for this to stay a wall of text forever, even though I have line breaks.
----- This line indicates where my signature begins, because the forums don't do it themselves -----
No signature yet!
Signatures not showing up for the first post of a thread is a known issues. Unlike the body of a post, signatures are allowing the limited range of html and bbcode tags. Since the forum software doesn't distinguish between the body of the post and the sig (yet), one can add a short line at the top of their sig to make that demarcation.

I think I'll install Drupal on my server & test out the settings (I've messed with a few forum setups before) ... even though it says html tags allowed they're really not allowed. Maybe they need to be set for the level of the users too. Hmm... must tinker away...

Oh, just wanted to share, if you clock on the tab to see "active" threads on the forums, the threads that are "mod/admin only" still show up at the moment to basic forum members on the thread list, they arent openable, but just sharing incase you make any threads with provocative/questionable names that were ment for the company of the admins/mods/etc.

edit
also when an overly large picture is displayed the forum didnt downsize the display of it, or self expand on my screen so the white backing expands past the linked picture (maybe thats just my browser) ?

Couldn't get Skydrive to work or from my google account using the links they provided and the [img][/img] tags. Straight URL from Flickr didn't work either with the tags but they had an option [b]Grab the HTML/BBCode[/b] that worked below.
[b][color=red]Reward tactics as well as damage dealing.[/color][/b]
Yeah, it's a quirk of Drupal we'll have to hunt down and code away. The "What's New" data module doesn't share permissions with the forums, and so, the titles of new but hidden content gets displayed for all to see.
I'll make sure the titles are innocuous. Or maybe... change the topics to things like, "We just go the top two SciFi actors to work our launch party..." and the content, which can't be seen, will say, "...as cardboard cutouts!"

Remember, most of the people in here want the same thing in the end; a game we'll all be proud to call Home.
The problem with the Twitter linking is if we mention our globals from CoX.
For example: @Naa
It makes it a link to Twitter. Guess for a work around we can just put a space @ Naa.
But thanks for fixing the spacing for the paragraphs.

Is there a setting for how many posts to display on one page? Because right now all 62 replies are on one page for me here. I'd hate to see what happens with actual long 1,000+ post threads.

Yes: With reservations.
1. Don't get silly with them except in silly threads. A serious thread should not have a quote pyramid deeper than four or five deep.
2. Edit judiciously what you quote. No need to quote the parts of a post that you're not responding to... snip it out. But, don't be so snippy that you change the author's intent and create a straw man. I'll interpret that as trolling, and you know what we do with trolls!!!!!!

When I look at my tracked threads, and click "X new" (X being # of new posts since my last visit) on threads that have two pages, it takes me to the first post on the first page, rather than the newest post on the second page. One-page threads work fine.
