So, I'm watching the "Costume Log, Supplemental" video on the MWM Youtube page, and I noticed that in one of the comments, y'all noted that combat was being done in two parts, and that it was being installed for its first real tests at the time of the video. As this was four months ago, I was wondering if anybody had any insight as to how things were progressing on it, on how it was looking?
I say no rush in my title because I want to emphasize that I'm not trying to say "omg where's my combat video speed up!" I understand that it's going to be ready when it's ready, and you're going to take how ever long you need to to make sure the combat is really well done before you start showing it off. I'm eager, of course, to get into CoT ASAP.
I'm just genuinely curious and interested in seeing how far things have moved since that comment four months back.

At the moment we've just about finished converting the numbers portion from Blueprints to C++ and integrating it into the multiplayer engine, which is the final step of its development. The animation engine still has some odd behavior we're nailing down.

I understand, and from what I've seen the animation part seems to be a common issue when it comes to game development. Would hate to have a repeat of the "Santa got into the egg nog" scenario, among other things :D.
That's really exciting though! It's coming along farther than I was thinking! Thrilled to hear that the numbers portion is in the final step of its development.

Since we're on the topic, vaguely, tangentially, do you have any more to share about power progression? Could you perhaps provide a sample powerset? There is, I'm sure, much tweaking under the hood but the core stack of powers ought to be there, perhaps with some description of each power.
Thanks much!
PS. Please define Blueprints. While I suspect a definition, I've not seen this word used frequently enough in context to be sure.

Now now, that would spoil the surprise.
And Blueprints is the name for Unreal's internal scripting language. It is designed to allow rapid prototyping, development, and debugging compared to C++. We use it to rapidly assemble bits, then once they are working right, convert them to C++.

Just keep in mind, you need for things to rain before the flowers bloom.

So... make it rain?
*puts on sunglasses* Yyyeeeaaahhh
Is there a way we could help water and fertilize said flowers? ;)
(can of worms, already open when I got here)

Hopefully they do not fall into the VO trap by releasing some early stuff which had no business being seen by anybody. Casual fans will take what they see and run with it; first impressions are lasting impressions imo.
