This is just another sign

This is just another sign that the lines between movies and games are blurring into a single interactive CGI-based "entertainment" medium. Some theoretical physicists already think we live in a "holographic universe" but even if we don't it looks like it won't be too long before we create a "real" version of the Matrix for ourselves.

And when we do, I'll contribute to the Kickstarter for the Matrix version of City of Titans.

My "residual self image" won't look like my real world body, I assure you.

The very existence of the taunting tank irritates, for it requires idiotic AI that obeys the taunt.

I enjoyed the move a lot and

I enjoyed the movie a lot and the graphics were really good. I am looking forward to the time where we can get that level of detail in video games. I feel like we are getting closer and closer every day!

Also, this was a great article, thanks for sharing Izzy!

I thought it was amusing at

I thought it was amusing at the Nvidia 1080 hardware announcement that the speaker said we were rapidly approaching the point where we can cross the uncanny valley in real time. They have literally been saying that for years! And really the trouble is not getting it done fast enough to be displayed on the screen and updated each frame it's getting all those details baked into an engine so a graphic artist doesn't have to spend all of his/her time painting in and coding the details. If graphic artist spent as much time as the team who did the art for Balu for every game NPC they would have spent years getting it produced at tremendous expense. You could not afford such a game. It's coming but it needs to be a lot easier for an artist to jump that uncanny valley. Slightly off topic but tangentially related?
