In CoX there were people who had so much Inf by year 8 that they needed mule toons just to carry it all, or they had multiple deals going on WW that they basically had money "in the market" as if investing in stock. There were different exploits possible, from the AE ones to attempts to corner the market in WW, etc.
I don't know how to avoid this kind of thing, but I feel that the economy should not be so easily manipulated like this. I feel like level-capped toons should still get Inf (or it's equivalent) for defeats, and vendors should still take Inf for goods, etc. Personally, I made my first 2 billion the hard way, by grinding solo alignment missions with my MM for Hero Merits and swag. I got about a purple a month that way, plus the residual Inf, Common IO drops that could be sold to NPC vendors for like 100k, some random good rare recipes and salvage, and of course the Hero Merits, which I used to buy stuff from the robotic butler in Trident base. Anyway, I wonder what CoT will be like in terms of Inf, markets, etc.
