Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Inspirations

I'm curious.

I want to know, first to share I guess, what it is that inspires you
What are heroes, to you.
what fills the souls of your creations?
What touches you, makes you feel heroic in your own life.
what makes you believe?
It might be movie quotes or song lyrics or the experiences they had growing up...

For me, it is this poem, among many other things.

The Laughing Heart

your life is your life
don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission.
be on the watch.
there are ways out.
there is a light somewhere.
it may not be much light but
it beats the darkness.
be on the watch.
the gods will offer you chances.
know them.
take them.
you can’t beat death but
you can beat death in life, sometimes.
and the more often you learn to do it,
the more light there will be.
your life is your life.
know it while you have it.
you are marvelous
the gods wait to delight
in you.

~Charles Bukowski

A good thread that no one

A good thread that no one replied since it was created? For shame, Titans. For shame! All in all, that is a pretty good poem!

But yeah, currently it's, well, comics, different mythologies and cultures and even historical events. Though my main heroine isn't inspired by neither historical or mythological characters, she is my "tribute" to Gail Simone's take on Black Canary. :)

Goldenrod (a.k.a. Hypatia

Goldenrod (a.k.a. Hypatia Argyros) has a lot of characters feeding into her. Some are comic-book staff wielders like Gambit, Stargirl, and the Manhunter. Others are mages in many forms of literature, from Gandalf to Virginia (nee Greylock) Matuchek to Balthazar Blake. A lot of these mages were created by Mercedes Lackey, like Diana Tregarde, Tannim, and Kethryveris. I hadn't considered it when I posted her origin story, but there's a lot of Victoria Victrix Nagy in there, too. (I'm reading Revolution now ^_^).

"Hypatia", of course, comes from the Great Library at Alexandria, via Courier Service Brainship AH-1033. "Argyros" was the surname of an Agent of Byzantium, and means "silver".

And, as mentioned elsewhere, thanks go to Terwin for the shoulder dragon ^_^. I'll need to find a name for the bookwyrm if he shows up in the RP section...

BTW, when you read The Secret World Chronicles, note Victoria's parentage (it's mentioned in several places). Then find Operation Chaos by Poul Anderson and note the protaganist's paranatural abilities and his wife's profession, and their daughter Valeria's secret name ^_^.

I've drawn inspiration from

I've drawn inspiration from all kinds of sources from the tragic to the hilarious. My fave villain was Total Violence, a suicidal Brute fed up with life. My fave humorous toon was a whack-job MM named Major Menace who had extreme delusions of grandeur. I had a hero named Talos that often won the Most Original Concept award.

Most of my inspirations come from deep inside where the fire burns...

I remember when Star Wars was cool...a long, long time ago...

When I created Gideon there

When I created Gideon there were 3 things that inspired his creation. The crow Eric Draven, Duncan Macleod from Highlander the series and the bible back in 1994.

I was inspired by my Greek

I was inspired by my Greek and Roman Art class in college to create my premier CO tank-type hero, "The Ionic Column". He was an expert at taking hits, and was moderately good at debuffing as well. I guess he was OK at brawling, but the majority of his goodness came from his effects and damage mitigation. He was stalwart, and his presence was inspiring.

I've also created jedi-themed characters in CO who utilized the "gadget laser" and "laser sword" of the gadgeteer and power-armor class in CO without taking any further power from that class, and hitting up off-class agility defense, telekinetic choking, lighting shots, and the like to create a believable jedi character.

All my favorite heroes are

All my favorite heroes are actually villains..

Characters like Magneto who have a clear mission statement of belief .. like "Mutants are superior to humans" its not mean.. its just evolution. So when he champions this cause it comes with its own moral potholes.

Any MO for a hero taken to an extreme or to the point where they "win".. like the villain in Watchmen. That was an amazing story because it shows that fighting for any ideal or utopia is ****ed. So much so that the truest heroes find the struggle to be a joke (Comedian).

Sure you're a terrorist today, but tomorrow you're a freedom fighter.. and if you win then you're "the establishment" with new "terrorists" fighting against you.

- -

Mind control is always taken as a weak crappy power unless its in the hands of a villain. The idea of taking away people's will is purely dangerous.. its a danger I'm attracted to..

So I wanted to take an amoral person and see what happens when they're given power over another's actions. My spin on it is to use brain control instead of mind control so that the moral implications can still be there. If you believe that the soul or mind are true and existant then that consciousness will have external knowledge of changes to the brain. So what happens when your brain sends impulses to your muscle to SHOOT but your mind doesn't want to pull the trigger.. When your adrenaline is spiking but you are trying to stay calm.. Is the entire application of control of another in and of itself "evil"? If you were born with the power to do it.. should it be considered wrong? Any more wrong than me using my car to pollute other people's air? Can you tell a controller not to be bossy any more than you can tell a scorpion not to sting?

Questions like this are what have made Kontrol so much fun to explore and tell stories with.

Hence why my Heroic Mind/Kinetics Controller was named Ms Givings and her $Battlecry was ... "Trust your Ms Givings!" ... which usually brought a guffaw from unsuspecting Teammates when they "said it" in their minds, rather than merely reading it on the screen.

I dream of a brighter future.

I dream of a brighter future. That is what inspires my creativity. The very knowledge that the odds are stacked against me gives me the strength to press onward.

Its a simple image, but it is things like this that I find favorable.

Billy Baston on the left, fairly obvious who the other is.

My inspiration for my

My inspiration for my characters comes from anything. A story, a painting/picture, another character, the news, the weather, a quote... the list goes on. Every now and then, I'll see or hear something, and an idea will manifest in my brain in the form of a mental image of the character, a back story, or a defining action. It is different every time. I guess my inspiration for my characters is the world itself.

I find inspiration for myself in selfless characters devoted to what they believe is right, such as Captain America.

The inspiration for my main

The inspiration for my main was a combination of Perfect Tommy and Batman... or, well, "Not -Batman" actually. I wanted my hero to be Positive, light in the the darkness, forward-thinking, and above all, Happy. So I made him a rich man who cares little or nothing about money. A powerful man who does not value 'power'. A man with no guilt, no Fear, nothing to make up for. A man who goes to bed each night and sleeps, happy to have accomplished whatever he has done, and looking forward to doing more in the future.

Be Well!
Fireheart

*I want to know, first to

*I want to know, first to share I guess, what it is that inspires you
-Inspiration comes from anything. Music, a film, a comic. something that catches the eye or ear...something as simple as a line in a TV series can spark something for me

*What are heroes, to you.
-A hero is a person defined by their actions. Triumph or fail the best heroes have a strong moral code that no matter what will not break. A hero is someone who reacts, who doesn't think of the outcome or 'odds in favor', their nature forces them into action. In the end, a hero inspires.

*what fills the souls of your creations?
-...tough to answer at the moment without sounding corny.

*What touches you, makes you feel heroic in your own life.
-To be honest I work my full time job, work on my project and over the weekends take care of my niece...just normal things I guess, nothing too heroic there.

*what makes you believe?
-Faith (please no religious debates...was asked, just answering)

*It might be movie quotes or song lyrics or the experiences they had growing up...
-No song, poem or movie can tell the story of me without making one directly about me. To select one would be fantasy.

Most of my character

Most of my character inspirations are the result of ... puns.

Redlynne ... pronounced "Red Line" ... and usually said the same way as where the Tachometer is supposed to not be sent to.
Ms Givings ... which inspired her $Battlecry: "Trust your Ms Givings!"
Ms Terry ... a pun that only becomes obvious when spoken (or "thought aloud").
Sidhe Bang ... pronounced "Shee Bang" ... which is another pun that only becomes obvious when you know how to read the word "Sidhe" (and what it means).
Nun Taken ... a catholic nun teacher at the Sisters of Divine Love and Retribution Catholic Girl's School and Seminary (which Redlynne escaped from!) who has taken her order's Vow of Violence and uses a fighting style known as "Preying Hands" due to how her fists melee in darkness.
Roxanne Flowers ... sounds like "Rocks and Flowers" when spoken aloud, which makes me think of a garden that needs tending.
Golden Blonde ... a superhero who is blonde and whose powers are catalyzed by the presence of gold (giving her a somewhat "gaudy" fashion sense with lots of cloth-of-gold and gold thread embroidery).

... and so on and so forth.

What inspires YOU to be your best self?

Random acts of kindness.

-Helping someone push their car out of the snow, or push a stalled car off the street.
-Help someone clean up something they dropped.
-Shoveling snow off an elderly neighbor's walkway/driveway.

Basically, any situation where the initial reaction is, "Oh man, that sucks," I try to follow that thought by thinking, "How can I help?" Whenever I see people helping their fellow man, I feel a deep desire to do the same. If time and circumstances allow, I usually stop and offer.

Ok i published a comic 2

Ok i published a comic 2 years ago. this year I decided to revamp Gideon. And his revamped origin deals with my own personal struggle with Depression which I beat over a year ago and PTSD. I wrote and origin based on that and instead of keeping him as a vigilante like his original story I made him a former S.W.A.T rookie cop for the revamped story. I did it this way because I wanted my readers to be able to relate to him more. there are alot of people that go through there own personal turmoilsand I wanted to use the comic as a way to reach out to others by letting them know that I understand what it's like because I been through it.
