Incredibles 2 has me excited to play

I have to say The Incredibles honestly sparks my excitement for the superhero genre in a way none of the live action movies have been able to do. Anyone else feel that way?

While I don't feel the exact

While I don't feel the exact same way The Incredibles is probably one of the best Superhero movies of all time. I watched the crap out of it when it came out on DVD all those years ago. And the DVD features were awesome! The thing with Mr. Skipperdoo the rabbit with commentary by Frozone and Mr. Incredible is hilarious.

It was definitely the first really good Superhero movie for a long time.

I can't wait to see the second one, looks like next week sometime would be the earliest I can go see it, though.

Hah, I came on a bit too

Hah, I came on a bit too strong. I didn't mean I didn't like the live action movies, just that I enjoyed The Incredibles that much more.

I heard the cast, director, writer etc said the reason they waited so long for a sequel despite the first doing well was because they didn't feel they could do it justice. I think they absolutely did with 2.

I guess I also tie Incredibles with CoH a lot because of the style, quality, and release timing.

I haven’t seen the new one

I haven’t seen the new one but the old one was like CoH and other super MMOs with the way they toss out so many names, and there’s this huge implied backstory with all of these different names and anecdotes about heroes and villains.

See Incredibles 2 in the theater.

However, if you're at all susceptible to strobing lights and/or epileptic ... watch in a BRIGHTLY LIT ROOM or writhe on the floor uncontrollably.
Even for those of us who aren't susceptible to strobing lights (all that much), there are some scenes where watching the screen will take ... work ... in a darkened theater.

Yeah, I heard about that

Yeah, I heard about that issue with Incredibles 2. Disney dropped the ball there.

Last I read no one has

Last I read no one has suffered and that would've been big news if they had. They did however have someone who complained, didn't suffer any bad effects, on twitter about no warning. :p

I don’t have “problems” like

I don’t have “problems” like that normally but when I saw Chronicles of Riddick in the theater, and had a bad sinus headache, and the opening of the film took place at dark night lit only by rapid fire muzzle flashes. Basically it was like watching a strobe light for minutes at a time. I had to run out of the theater to empty my stomach in the restroom. It really made the experience less than perfect.

...who needs to see a movie to get excited to play? I don't, bring on the superheroes in all their various forms regardless of origin I say! :D

I am looking forward to seeing I2 though, the first was great!

I loved the movie, the action

I loved the movie, the action scenes were amazing. One thing that I found strange though, every single super hero showcased in the first movie had "average" proportions. The supers' proportions in Incredibles 2 were all over the place. I don't know if that was just them having the added power to make many unique character models and the modeler went crazy with it, or what, but I just thought it was interesting.

I don’t need the movie to be

I don’t need the movie to be excited to play but it sure does push that itch all the more! The movie was great! I liked the way they expounded upon violets powers with the force field blast she threw out early on in the first fight. Also some of the supporting supers had powers that were cool, like crusher and void. Pretty hard to implement either of those in something like COT but still gets me very excited!

*Skimming over responses that talk specifics from the film, since it's not playing here yet.*

I look forward to Incredibles 2 a lot, but I suspect Infinity War did a lot more to get me psyched for CoT than I2 will, since it's more serious -- as I hope CoT will be.

Sorry about that Cinnder... I'm usually so late to see anything in the theater anymore that I just assume I'm the last to see something. My apologies for any spoilers...

It's kind of amazing they allowed something like this to pass through in 2018. Given as big as Pixar is with all the likely "test screenings" and other vetting they probably put this movie through prior to release it doesn't seem possible they'd miss this.

This sounds like something that could easily be automated. What I mean is that you'd think by now they could run a finished movie through some video analysis software to determine with scientific accuracy whether a given feature might contain sequences that could induce epileptic-type responses.

No worries. Given that lately Europe tends to get these big films at the same time (and sometimes slightly before) the US, it's odd that the release of both Incredibles 2 and Ant-Man and the Wasp are being delayed over here.
