Alright so the main problem the devs of COX had with introducing a quadruped body type was that it would take to much time creating new animations for all the powers. Now that we're making a game where the animation is separate from the power we can probably set aside a few animations that only quadruped's can do, but are also limited to. I think I heard somewhere that making a skeleton for a quadruped is harder than making one for a bipedal, so this would probably be something to add later on, but if it is possible to do this, then we could do the same later on for birds and such.

While I would be all for a quadrupet body type and probably playing one as soon as it's possible, I see more problems than just those concerning the animations and modeling.
First of all having no arms and hands would mean that a quadrupet character would have some troubles doing things that are normal for humanoid beings. Like open doors, operating mashines or computers.
And almost every four legged animal can run a lot faster then two legged ones. Having them running at the same speed would be unpleasantly immersion breaking, at least for me. Everytime I run away from a wolf or panther in Guild Wars 2 I have the strong desire to facepalm. But giving them an advantage in speed might not be fair...
But for playing a shapeshifter, as travel power (like the coyote you could buy in CoH) or minions/ enemys I would very much like to see the quadrupet bodytype realized.
Yeah things like quadruped characters opening doors or running at weird speeds might be problems to deal with. Might look even more weird to see them fly and/or ride in vehicles (assuming that happens).
But I'd guess a lot of people might be willing to put up with some of those unhandled visual "oddities" if it meant getting to have a quadruped body type for characters in general. *shrugs*

exactly what I was thinking. While it may not be realistic to have quadrupeds be as fast as a bipedal body type, we are talking about a comic book universe here.

I would like to see quadrupeds in a game. It will bring a new level of play to gaming that has not been done far as I know. You can do antthing , k-9's felines, reptile, gragons, griffins, Centaurs, demons and robotic quadrupeds just to name a starter base. Like other things that would be great for game play I'm not looking for to be in the launch of the game or ever for that fact. But like alot of the things we players put up here on the forums it's a wish list.

I know. I'm definatly labeling this under nice have, rather than something that's important to the game. If it ever makes it to the game, the body type would probably have less animations than a normal body type and only limited to certain emotes. I don't know about centaurs though, the reason this could be added after the game is launched is because the devs don't have to remake every animation from the normal body types to account for this new body type. Some equine parts would be nice though, a unicorn mob boss would be something interesting to make.
