OK so we were all good and released NOTHING during Beta testing.
It is opening day. From the very start, how long will it take before we see the first player made video on YouTube?
and what kind of video will it be? Character creation? Gameplay? Review? Music video? Story? Comedy?
I have Bandicam it is one of MANY recording/editing programs out there. I may not have uploaded any videos, I fully intend to do so with COT.
It is my hope that player made videos are popular enough that we will get our own sub-forum in the multimedia forum
Oh and last question: assuming you wanted to...what videos would you chose to make? I would go for music vids and comedy.

I'm hoping for Videos even before the end of Beta.
Youtube and internet reviewers are the only type of Advertisement City of Titans going to get. The more videos and social media outlets we can post to the better in my view. Even bad games with high social broadcasts get attention... I'm looking at you flappy bird.
As to what I have in mind. Well, I been thinking of a "We Got That" advertisement. "You want robots?" (Show all the robots type of costumes and action) "We Got that", Ninjas? Yeah we got that... and so on.

I assume "player made vids" of the game will appear online within an hour or two of the game going to "public beta". Of course if that beta is supposed to be a "closed" beta then any vids you see will technically be illegal and we can only assume how forceful MWM will be in trying to make sure any/all illegal videos are removed. Obviously by the time any beta testing becomes "open" then I'll expect you'll see dozens of vids up within a day or two.
Given the grassroots nature of this game I actually don't think there will be a large period of time where any vid/pic of this game will be considered "illegal" and/or under a strict NDA. As RottenLuck implied most of the advertisement of this game is going to be via word of mouth and people spreading around vids and pics on behalf of MWM so it really would not serve MWM very well to try to keep things "under wraps" any longer than absolutely necessary. This is why I suspect that by the time this game goes to "public beta" it's more than likely going to quickly become an "open public beta" if for no other reason than to spread the word of the game as far and wide as possible.

I agree with Lothic here. After the first beta goes live there will be in-game vids within hours. You mentioned video's of the costume creator. Since that is something they plan to release before the official launch it's likely those videos will go live prior to release. But that's just me nit picking. I'd expect that media outlets like MassivelyOP and others will be doing some live streams through a special media NDA lift prior to beta testers being allowed. But given the open nature of development and MWM's willingness and really requirement to be transparent I'd almost expect there to be very little restrictions on player broadcasts.

Agreed. Let's plays and game streaming are a big thing now on Twitch and Youtube, hopefully we have a few streamers here in the community.
I will definitely be making videos and streaming when the game comes out, if not sooner. Costume creator montage!

So what are the best or your favorite tools for making said videos? I saw Bandicam mentioned. What else is good?
"THE TITANS ARE COMING! THE TITANS ARE COMING!"
I use Open Broadcaster Software for Twitch streams, If I am just making a video for Youtube I usually use Camtasia studio.

free edition is still good
a few example screencast made with it: http://atomisystems.com/demo/
With the talk of player made videos wonder if we should start talking about making a CoT Youtube channel. Get everything from in-game events showing to a Roleplaying show.
