In Champions Online, Dragon Prophet & PSO2 to name a few, the pets are bigger than the standard player.

In CO, some are, some aren't. Certainly all of Tinker Belle's bots and drones were smaller than her, and I stayed in the lower end of the height slider for her. In CoT, I hope that it will be "it depends on what the Player chose when selecting the power."

Ideally even for the pet powers that can't be fully customized (i.e. CoH Fire Imps) it'd be cool if CoT would at least allow a single slider that would let us scale them up and down size-wise.
Having "one big pet" might be fine but honestly in any situation where I might have multiple pets I'd want them to be as small as reasonably possible. Having several large pets bumbling around would just fill up my screen and obscure what I'd want to see not to mention how cluttered that'd start to get on large teams.

A pet this size shouldn't take up too much of the screen right??

Sure but remember her babies were pretty kick-ass even when they were tiny:

True
Maybe the leader would be the tall guy. While I don't want a clutter fest, I also don't want dragons or T-Rex that are the size of Warcabbit. I still say there should be pets whom scale higher than the character. Perhaps have their A.I distanced from player melee range.
In CO the device raptor was taller than the player, the mechanical monstrosity pet was really tall. Really really tall actually.

Awwh, now I want to be able to make a chibi t-rex with a slightly oversized head.
The biggest one can get should be the size of the hulk, a dragon that size should be sufficient.

Some of those dragons are freaking "Titans."
The spider was very tall.

There is nothing wrong with small pets at all. Not even dragons.
I answered my own question in an another thread actually; why not a device or method to make your pets as big as ya want, but others can't see it? Never mind, meaninglessness discussion lol.

I once ran with a team consisting of my Fire corruptor and 6 Masterminds all in the late 30's. 43 players and pets. All I can remember is two things, being awfully glad I was a ranged character and the chat text as they invited a Brute to join. I could barely see a thing through all the bobbing pets and fx covering my screen. Poor Brute survived one mission before deciding to find another team with a few less pets around.
there is something i fundamentally hate about kitty having a dragon pet in x-men, i cant even figure out what it is. It feels out of place and inappropriate.
one of my favorite series is dragonriders of pern... so i like dragons... just not with my x-men

In FFXIV, there's an option to change the size of the Bahamut summon on the player's screen. Everyone has the option so that if you run with four other summoners, you can shrink their pets down to fun size, and have your own summon the size of a house. It's a pretty nice option.
