Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Honest Cryptocurrency Mining as a feature?

I'm wondering if any FTP MMO ever got the idea of openly and honestly adding a cryptocurrency miner as a feature in the client? It could be an opt-in option and maybe the players using it could get a little cash shop currency in return? If someone else has tried this before, does anyone know if it worked?

I'm looking for any crazy ideas that might get CoT into our hands faster.

I suppose a scheme like that might help some games but personally I don't think I'd want to involve myself in a game that's doubling as a cryptocurrency miner for someone else, even if it's totally optional. I get that you may be genuinely thinking of a serious way MWM could get more funding to speed up their development but I honestly would have to question wanting to be a customer of MWM if they decided to do something like that. I simply would rather not even be indirectly involved with that kind of thing... YMMV of course.

I absolutely agree with Lothic on this. Even if it was opt-in, this is a case where I would resent even giving space to miner code.

A fun idea, but I think the whole crypto thing has kinda burned out, eh? Maybe GPU prices can be sane again.

Server: "Have we got a great new deal for players! Let us generate bitcoin and you gain PASSIVE xp!"

Players: That sounds horrible! I'm not doing it!

Server: We've heard people complain that the rewards weren't worth it. We've heard you, so we've DOUBLED the PASSIVE xp gain from bitcoining!

Buried in Patch notes: Max xp players can collect through normal means now caps at the equivalent of level 45, this can be exceeded by bitcoin xp

Players: This is awful! Stop ruining the game!

Server: We apologize for this lack of communication. Bitcoin xp allows those with resources to gain xp when they otherwise don't have time and is integral to their enjoyment of the game. We have increased the cap for xp gained through normal means back to level 50.

Undocumented change the next day: Xp required for levels above 40 increased by 30%, battle xp cap untouched.

Also mining works better with

Also mining works better with systems that aren't resource intensive, e.g. a website, whereas a game is using those resources.

Yeah even if the whole "remote crypto-mining" thing wasn't sketchy enough to begin with the idea that it'd suck resources away from my gaming experience is a horrible side-effect.

If I've paid for a top-of-the-line system with a big fancy GPU/CPU setup I want those resources going towards making my game look as good as possible instead of being wasted on some third party's bitcoin mining.

I don't care at all about

I don't care at all about cryptocurrency or mining or anything like that. What would this system to for me except make the game worse/more laggy? If you don't have an answer for that, this system is terrible.
