Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.
It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

I only have the icon setup since the game install/screenies/sentinel/characters were lost with an old hard drive. I have no visible costume folder even after recreating the character with icon and saving to the path [even show hidden folders doesn't show it]. Also the characters are not screen grabbing, they only produce black screens from icon. Can't seem to explain why it's only icon that refuses to screen capture in costume creator and in a map instance.
So I need to figure out this black screengrab issue.

What are you using for screen grab? The print screen button? That usually will make a black screen on some video... Try the Snip It Tool in Windows start menu...
Awesome thanks for this, the control+alt+print screen method was what borked screengrabs. Your suggestion of using the snip tool resolved it.

Glad to help... TDP sent me a guy and a girl to choose from... very clever... he must have known I couldn't possibly break his heart and make that kind of Sophie's Choice. AND since I am not coloring these... I may have to do both. Already from glancing at the screens, I see the guy in the foreground 3/4 body, and the girl in the sky behind him, large, kind of like him thinking of her, so her face can be huge, and I only have to do from the chest up at best. I think it's a nice compromise...
Okay will have to study up on my Jack Kirby, and then I will post up some sketches, later this week. Thanks again CR for doing this, and for everyone playing along.

[color=#c95f02][b][size=15][font=Palatino Linotype]Hitting the windows key twice (the first brings up the start menu and the second hides the menu but leaves the taskbar as the focus) and then hitting the print screen button along with the multi-monitor trick both should work because the game screen is no longer the "focus" but now the background which is the same thing the snip it tool does. Not sure why a black screen happens when the game is up front but pushing it to the background by any of these three methods seems to solve it.

It always seemed like an easier way to explain why they didn't all have shattered ankles/heels than to assume they all had adamantium bones. ;)

Comics are a visual medium, as such artist would draw things that found visually appealing, and not something based on "would this hurt to wear for most people all day long?" :p
Never understood why people don't get that aspect of comics and instead make comments like Lothic. :p
That said, my main has pretty much used flat soled boots (Large Boots in CoH/Harajuku Boots in CO) not because of some realism notion but just because I thought they looked good.
The article also mentions how they're basically fetish wear. Which in CoH and CO fetish seems to be a big thing. ;)
Obviously comics are a "visual medium" and we all know they tend to be drawn to be visually appealing regardless of practical concerns. I've never criticized comics for depicting things that wouldn't be "practical" in real life - sorry you thought that's what I was trying to do in this case.
So (as opposed to the subject of what comic books do) when I'm coming up with my own character concepts I'm free to decide anything I want about them up to and including silly little details like, "So-n-So can get away with wearing foot-mangling footwear because she Hovers/Flys all the time".
For what it's worth I've created plenty of other characters over the years for all sorts of games who either specifically wore flat-soled shoes and/or (for whatever reasons) never had their preferred type of footwear specified at all. My choices for my characters have nothing to do with comics as an artform - the two subjects are really apples-n-oranges different as far as I'm concerned. *shrugs*
You're obviously free to come up with any kind of rationalizations you want for your characters regardless of what I think about it. Hopefully you'll allow me the same courtesy.
Don't get too hung up by my semi-random reference to ballet boots. Basically I could have said the same thing about "standard" high heeled shoes or boots as well but perhaps that wouldn't have been "provocative" enough to be noticed in this forum. In other words you probably only chose to respond to my post mostly because I used an overtly loaded mental image (much like the visual spiciness you mentioned gets used by the comic book artists) to make my point with words. ;)

hehe...more of just the idea of even need a "real life" when it comes to comics :p If they did that when comics started, I doubt they'd be as fun. :)
CoH and CoT are examples of MMO games that are based on the fictional comic book genre. I honestly don't really care how far the creators of those various comic book titles chose to ground themselves in "real life" or not. That's up to the people who created them and obviously the very nature of most titles more or less required them to "bend the rules" to various degrees.
But when I play any given MMO and make characters for them I actually prefer to give passing thoughts as to what those characters might actually do or wear in the context of these games. If it's a crime to actually prefer a bit of "internal consistency" about how much "reality" I choose to adhere to then paint me guilty as charged. These characters are mine so I don't need those comic book writers (for instance) to tell me what to worry about. They can worry about what makes sense to them.
Sometimes I consider what it'd be like to be a superheroine running around with Super Speed in 5 inch heels and make allowances for that in my characters concepts. Other times I could probably care less about other details that other people would find critically important like how the [url=http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Well_of_the_Furies]Well of the Furies[/url] had any responsibly for making my independently god-like characters Incarnates in its image.
Bottomline you can worry about what makes sense to you when you play these games and I'll worry about what makes sense to me. ;)

Think you're looking WAY to into it, Lothic. :p All I said was "I never understood how people couldn't get the aspects of the comics" never said you couldn't do what you want.
My main quibble with your "aspects of the comics" is that just because comic books CAN and DO play fast and loose with various aspects of the real world doesn't mean they get a blanket "get out jail free card" to ignore or hand-wave anything they want about absolutely anything. Suspension of disbelief and internal consistency has to be maintained on at least some level or comics lose any meaning to the reader and just become a bunch of acid-trip based nonsense ungrounded on ANY set of principles real or otherwise.
Sure comic books allow for all sorts of fantastical super powers and people who run around with perfect Olympian physiques. And yes if a comic writer wants to explain that a superheroine can run 1,000 MPH in high-heeled boots because she's physically invulnerable to the bodily stresses and that her boot heels are made of Vibranium to withstand the wear-n-tear then that's perfectly fine.
But yet when someone else decides to have a different type of comic book character deal with the "sore feet from wearing impractically sexy shoes" problem by Flying all the time somehow that's suddenly "not comic booky" enough because it's dealing with a mundane real world issue that shouldn't have to be addressed in comic book land? How many women in the real world get to avoid shoe-based foot pain by FLYING. That's not comic booky enough for you? ;)
Put it this way: Does Batman get to avoid having to deal with real world ninja-styled physics just because he's a comic book character? Does Spider-Man get to avoid the consequences of gravity if he stops using his webs to swing from building to building? All I'm saying that not every superpowered comic book character is going to be "invulnerable" enough to avoid every problem that would be suffered by a "normal" person and there's absolutely no reason why these types of real world things can't be roleplayed and/or accounted for by character concepts in fictional games.
Bottomline as long as they're going to base games like CoH and CoT in "New England cities on some version of Planet Earth" then yes, sadly enough, our characters are going to need to exist within the context of that version of a "real world" which again (perhaps sadly) is not that different from the world we live in (chubby people and all).
