Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Dark Ether: "Not in the face!"
Belle Blade: "This is my arresting sword."

I imagine it will be a thing one way or another.

Redlynne (MA/SR Scrapper):

Redlynne (MA/SR Scrapper): "Boot to the head!"
Ms Givings (Mind/Kin Controller): "Trust your Ms Givings!"
Autumn Turning (Peacebringer): "Go towards the light."
Ms Terry (Warshade): "Your soul is my chewtoy!"
Shirayukihime (Ice/Ice Tanker): "You cannot win, Cinderillon..."

Now I find myself wondering what I was using for Sidhe Bang, my Storm/Dual Pistols Defender, since I can't remember ...

All of the lore I wrote for

All of the lore I wrote for my toons was co-opted from TV. Radiac's origin story was the opening credits of The A-Team paraphrased to be about him. His battlecry was either "Up and at them!" or "MY EYES!!! THE GOGGLES DO NOTHING!!!" depending on the situation.

TV had some awesome missions, too, but I think Radio's were better.

I never played around much

I never played around much with Macros in CoH, but couldn't you tie a comment to a power? For example, you would press "1" for a simple punch, but you could also create a macro, assign it a different key (like F1) and attach the saying "Hungry? Here's a knuckle sandwich!" In that set up, you would:

Press "1" for the simple punch
Press "F1" for the simple punch and your character says his/her line.

This way, you could assign different sayings to different actions. My Dark Emp Defender, Angel One would likely say as a knock out blow, "Thy judgement cometh from on high!", but for a resurrection, "Heaven has a place for you, but not yet!"

Yes, you could add a comment

Yes, you could add a comment to powers via macros and such. I once ran on a mission with someone who had done that for each and every power they had. Once.

Macros were "powers" that took slots in your power tray and keybinds were the same thing, just tied to a key instead. So, IIRC, your keybind would look like:

/bind F1 "say Hungry? Here's a knuckle sandwich!$$powexec_name Brawl"
/bind F2 "say Thy judgement cometh from on high!$$powexec_name Smite"
/bind F10 "say Heaven has a place for you, $target, but not yet!$$powexec_name Resurrect"

The CoH devs didn't want binds to become an automated "win" button, so if you had multiple power commands, only the last one activated would win. So we often had "toggle" buttons that switched between two toggle powers, such as:

/bind Keypad_0 "powexec_name Fly$$powexec_name Hover"

In this case, if neither Fly nor Hover were active, activating Hover would cancel activating Fly. So from a standing start, you hover. Then when you're hovering, Fly would take effect: since powexec_name Hover would turn hover off, Fly would be the last power activated. And vice versa. When you actually wanted to land, you'd just click the toggle in the power bar that was active. (I kept them in a power bar to remind me which mode was active.)

The syntax of this bind language irked the heck out of me due to its lack of proper escape sequences and other ambiguities.

But still, there was a lot of power to be had. My Mastermind had all the controls bound to the keypad, and implemented a "mini-language" by loading keybind files as needed to change the keys' "modes". My robot pets were three minions (Mao, Misora, and Sylvia), two lieutenants (Yuriko and Chinami), and one boss (Kagome). The keypad keys were as follows:

  • WHO
    • 0 = everyone
    • 1 = all minions
    • 2 = all lieutenants
    • 3 = the boss (Kagome)
    • + = Yuriko
    • Enter = Chinami
    • / = Mao
    • * = Misora
    • - = Sylvia
  • STANCE
    • 4 = aggressive
    • 5 = defensive
    • 6 = passive
  • COMMAND
    • 7 = attack designated target
    • 8 = get back here
    • 9 = go to position
    • . = stop at current location
    • Ctrl-. = dismiss

This was achieved by having the various WHO keys load keybind files from a folder, which would reprogram the other keys.

(Yes, my pets were named after this bunch:

)

Something simpler in concept but more painstaking and a lot more interesting were the "phone conversations" a hero named Ascendant would rig up. All you need for that is one keybind which would say something then load the next file which would replace that keybind with the next line, an emote, and the command to load the next file. So you stand in front of the phone and just press the key every few seconds.

Has anyone seen my mind? It was right here...

Yeah, I can see where that would get annoying. Ideally, you'd come up with a catch-phase for some, if not all, but use them sparingly, e.g. you (not the team, YOU) are one attack away from taking down the boss in a mission. Slip it in there. Otherwise, keep quiet!
