When? All these side issues, comic books, t-shirts, ect... When are we gonna see a working (or Semi working) game? Or character developer? Maybe I'm impatient, but its been a looong time now with nuthin' concrete to latch on to. Let the flaming begin...

The Game
Report Braxion :)
This topic gets covered every few days/weeks in various threads on this forum. Basically the "news" is pretty much the same as it's been for a while now.
About the only thing that's fairly certain is that we've been told we'll get the standalone "avatar builder" app some number of months before any alpha/beta build of the game itself becomes available for testing. Basically once the avatar builder is out we'll probably only have to wait like another 6-12 months before a build of the game gets released. Remember the average MMO takes at least 5+ years to build so given when MWM started we're probably more or less on schedule.
Beyond that if you're not a Dev you have as much of a clue about any of this as the rest of us. *shrugs*

Expanding on what Lothic said, based on the progress they've made on things, I suspect the alpha/beta for the character creator will arrive in something around early to mid 2017, so the game proper would come out in late 2017 to mid 2018.
An infinite number of tries doesn't mean that any one of those tries will succeed. I could flip an infinite number of pennies an infinite number of times and, barring genuine randomness, they will never come up "Waffles".
Hi Brax :)
No flaming needed. As others have said, this is a regular topic, and we all understand. We're all impatient because we all want the game that they are making RAGHT NAOWUHH!!!
Actually, we all wish we had it yesterday.
But the realities are:
1) That historically it generally takes an established major studio longer to put out an alpha for a truly AAA MMORPG from inception than it has been since MWM started. PLUS MWM isn't a major studio (YET!) and they wisely jumped on the chance to change from UE3 to UE4--which was, simply put, the right thing to do even thought it cost a little time. You don't want to start out from the get-go already using yesterday's tech.
2) That none of the "side projects" are using any resources that could possibly expedite the development of the game. Yet, doing them could help the game now and in the future both directly and indirectly in various ways. Ergo, they might as well do them, and it certainly wouldn't help if they didn't.
We feel ya, but it's wait happily, or wait and rage.
Either way, we wait.
FIGHT EVIL! (or go cause trouble so the Heroes have something to do.)

Thanks guys for all the replies! All of you are correct that patience is needed... however, I do feel like one of those proverbial vultures on occasion. All this time (I know, I know) and still haven't found anything that fit as well as our lost City or feels as great.
Again, thanks for your replies & explanations.
We feel your pain! A lot of people have said the exact same thing Braxion. They had played / are playing other MMOs, but nothing compares. :(
I think Halae is being a bit pessimistic as I am hoping for a Beta release of the AB as my Christmas present. Beta testing that over the Holidays would be an absolute joy! But then, I'm too much of an optimist for my own good sometimes, so we'll see . . .
Sadly I can think of one time your Signature is wrong. Duke Nukem Forever... the horror. Been delayed forever as well.

Personal rules of good roleplay
1.) Nothing goes as planned.
2.) If it goes as planned it's not good RP
Heh, there's always exceptions to the rule, but in Duke Nukem Forever's case it was both delayed and rushed.
The delayed game was cancelled. The game which was released was rushed.

That about sums it up. If you play through the game, you can actually see the eras of video game development it went through in the level designs as it was being made. At the end, it was just released because they had it and they made a nominal end.
An infinite number of tries doesn't mean that any one of those tries will succeed. I could flip an infinite number of pennies an infinite number of times and, barring genuine randomness, they will never come up "Waffles".
We are all impatient. That's why we are here!
