People's thumbnail images are still constantly breaking. However, I have noticed that linked photos don't seem to have this problem, probably because images are breaking because of forum storage issues.
Most people have access, one way or another, to free online storage of personal photos/graphics that they can then set up to share (google drive, for instance). I was able to include one such image in my signature (see below).
How hard would it be to change the user settings so you could have the option to either upload a user thumbnail or link to a graphic.
I'm sure there would be a way to make sure the graphic had the necessary size restrictions (at least, I know you can tell an image what size to display and I suspect that a maximum size could be hard-wired into the box you'd put your graphic's url)
I know there are other issues, and I know the Kickstarter and game development are the primary focus at the moment, but it's just an idea.

Hopefully the new web minions Warcabbit mentioned will be able to fix it, or at least track down the cause. ^_^
