Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

Figuring out a character cheat sheet for RP

Hey all. ^_^
So in the downtown ooc thread a few of us were talking about how to figure out interactions between our characters in respect to power levels and abilities etc... Some of us rp street level heroes whose only ability might be a few years of boxing, while others rp superman-esque golden/silver age characters....

So while any character in the comic world can defeat any other character.... how they go about it is largely dependent on the gaps in power, personality, and exploitation of weaknesses or style of the other character.

To a lesser degree this occurs in social interactions in our RP threads. Would your hero stand up to someone who could pummel them into the ground? Or would they wait for the proper timing to administer some vigilante justice? Would your villain play along with several heroes because he was currently outmatched? Or would he throw all caution to the wind and see if fate gave him victory and the spoils of the vault?

So lets come up with a character cheat sheet for RP... not full on back stories, not 100% hard numbers, just the info we need to have our characters interact. Kind of how the various power levels and personalities of the justice league or the avengers interact... their is a huge spread in ability levels, personalities, and goals.. what makes it work is each character knowing more or less how they compare to the others on the team... with real friction happening when a powerful character makes a bad call that less powerful heroes can stop unless they team up with a new plan... or two near equal heroes have different ideas about which way is right..

This is my 1st take on a character cheat sheet... feel free to make revisions, suggestions, your entire own version... We dont have to agree on any 1 way, but if we get close to something agreeable it might make our rp look and go smoother.

Characteristics based on Heroes system:

*Dark magic dowsing: Red sees all forms of dark magic as attractive, often following it to its source
*Minor Empathy: Red only pays attention to extreme emotions, love/hate/fear/ecstasy. She will only move towards negative emotions and will engage its source in combat
*Blood magic: capable of casting many minor spells, usually translates into minor buffs/debuffs to various stats

Disadvantages/Weaknesses:
*Alternate reality: Reds mind exists in no less than 5 realities at any one time. her attack patterns are devastating but impractical. Often times she attacks empty air at the same time she is attacking the actual foe. She strikes at all versions of where the fighter is depending on how many realities that fight is occurring in.
*Alternate reality 2: Red refers to people and places by other terms, often times confusing those she is speaking to
*White magic blindness: Red cannot sense white magic. The area becomes a non existent void that Red will avoid. Any emotion stronger than the magic will still attract Red into the void zone but she will only 'see' that source.
*Berserk fighter: Red will fight THE STRONGEST fighter engaged in combat, regardless of team affiliation
*Wanderlust: If not grounded Red will drift towards sources of conflict or dark magic at all times regardless of where she wants to be.

Time in Titan City: Recent arrival (2-3 weeks)
Public Knowledge of Character:
Best avoided, if encountered center your emotions and do not allow any one emotion to strongly influence you. this will cause you to become mostly invisible to Red. Red will ignore anything non combative most of the time.
Most dangerous around large sources of dark magic. If Red becomes grounded in reality around such a source she will decimate anything opposing her. These rare occasions are also when Red seeks out and destroys sources of white magic.
Best countered by ranged heroes with incredible movement, exceptionally durable heroes with strong magic defenses.
She will fight whoever is the most powerful being in a combat zone regardless of affiliation.

Other such things we need is

Other such things we need is a NPC Foe chart. Something to let others know that This foe is so and so strong. That foe is fast.

As well as Things like the Airship cannons how much power are in those blasts. How tough are the engines.

For the character sheets themselves I think they are fine. Thought I very rusty using PNP system I generally just roll with the RP in terms of concept due to my years RPing in chats and forums.

What are th three letter

What are th three letter abbreviations for stats, and what do they mean? Str, Dex, and Con are obvious, but I'm not sure what the others could be measuring. Especially since Con and Body are used in RPG's to describe the same general thing in the systems I'm used to.

DEX = Dexterity (how adept you are at dodging things and/or sleight-of-hand)

I'm not quite sure how to quantify Amerikatt's abilities, since they don't quite fit neatly into proper classification. I can roleplay her as a fully-realized character, but it's tougher to put numbers to her abilities.

For instance, she doesn't have Super-Strength, per se, but her body produces an energy field which allows her to push away a thug or Freakshow Tank or push over a battle tank. It even helped to slow down the Texas-sized asteroid which eventually destroyed Galaxy City. However, she is not able to hold or throw anything heavier than a squeaky toy!

Likewise, her body is surrounded by an aura (the resistance bubbles in CoH) which makes it very difficult to hurt her. She is totally immune to handgun, assault weapon, and rifle attacks, for instance. I'm not sure if that qualifies her for BODY of the "Superhuman" scale.

Should I just go ahead and give her stats in the "Superhuman" and "Legendary" ranges? Those high stats are counterbalanced by certain limitations (in the old "DC Heroes" PnP game, for instance, she would've had a "Catastrophic Irrational Attraction to Protecting the Innocent"; and, being a cat, she has no opposable thumbs, so, in the HERO system, that apparently qualifies as a Physical Limitation).

Sounds like Amerikatt has a form of Telekinesis the energy field just a physical aura/production of said kinesis. Given you were already thinking she has a form of telepathy it fits with the general idea.

He can inject some of his being in others to repair damage however this risks infecting them with cells of the collective that would eventually grow to a new collective. To limit this he would only send cells on the verge of death and only when it’s a life threating wound.

Description of powers: Unknown is a mass of silicon/crystalline based life forms. A collective they don’t have a set form able to shape shift and change density at will. Being a space born life form they absorb heat and energy. Being a collective instead of a single life form they can repair damage much faster and wounds effects are limited due to not having internal organs to worry about.

Other Skills/perks/talents: N/A

Disadvantages/Weaknesses: Water is a major weakness for the collective. Water can enter the mass and disrupt the electrical impulses between cells.
Unknown is also easily confused by human behavior, and thought intelligent can be naive.
The mass can be broken apart and rejoin itself, however Unknown’s intelligent drops with more of itself is removed from the central collective hub. Those slivers could grow into new collectives if not collected fast enough.

Time in Titan City: New to the city, but has memories from John Doe who lived in the city for a few months.
Public Knowledge of Character: Unknown is not publicly known.

It even helped to slow down the Texas-sized asteroid which eventually destroyed Galaxy City. However, she is not able to hold or throw anything heavier than a squeaky toy!
Likewise, her body is surrounded by an aura (the resistance bubbles in CoH) which makes it very difficult to hurt her. She is totally immune to handgun, assault weapon, and rifle attacks, for instance. I'm not sure if that qualifies her for BODY of the "Superhuman" scale.
Should I just go ahead and give her stats in the "Superhuman" and "Legendary" ranges? Those high stats are counterbalanced by certain limitations (in the old "DC Heroes" PnP game, for instance, she would've had a "Catastrophic Irrational Attraction to Protecting the Innocent"; and, being a cat, she has no opposable thumbs, so, in the HERO system, that apparently qualifies as a Physical Limitation).

Offense power List:
Orion’s melee skills are powered with cosmic energy with a negative exponential output. That is to say, theoretically, if he could impact a target at the instant his power activated the concussive force would be (functionally) limitless. Generally the time it takes for the signal command to travel from his brain to his muscles, and then have his muscles move makes anything more than a power rating of 60, impossible. This rapid degradation makes any ranged attack have equally rapid diminishing returns. Beyond a distance of ten yards, it’s not possible for him to create a “blast’ with enough force to kill a human being, and beyond 20 yards, only an unprepared target would get knocked over.
Due to the nature of his powers, fast jabs are often most damaging, however he generally opts for much bigger motions, allowing the cosmic energy to bleed off his striking appendage (it can be anything, from hands and feet, to elbows, knees or his head) ….. because it looks a lot flashier, and he doesn’t want to permanently hurt anyone.
He can create concussive blasts of cosmic energy from his arms, feet or chest, but their rapidly decreasing effectiveness means they’re generally used only to push an enemy away, or move debris that’s pinning him down.

Orion can absorb a good portion of most non-kinetic energy (or the non-kenetic component of any energy) he encounters. This includes elemental energies, most meta human energy blasts, and some magical attacks. Only cosmic energy (including solar radiation) absorption, though, allows him to power his offensive and shield abilities (his toughness appears to be innate.)

Other Skills/perks/talents:
He knows how to make the best Pizza Crust in Clarkstown, and consequently, the world. Worked at Famous Ray’s Original Pie Shop all through highschool and played linebacker on varsity his junior and senior years.

Can effectively light small fires (pile of appropriate tinder or balled up newspaper) with the radiant cosmic energy (“cosmic flames”) that trail his physical strikes

His innate toughness protects him from the effects of vacuum and the mass quantities of energy he absorbs naturally renders other sources (eating, sleeping, breathing) unnecessary. This fact doesn’t stop him from regularly oversleeping and eating constantly.

Disadvantages/Weaknesses:
Range. If you aren’t pretty close to him… all he can really do is wave at you, or throw something really, really hard. Keep in mind, he wasn’t playing quarterback on his varsity team. Although his powers would seem to mimic super strength, he isn’t actually super strong. He could help you move your car if he had a tow truck, or if you didn’t mind have a fist-sized dent in the door filling up the driver’s seat while your car slowly sank into Steward’s bay...
He is moderate-to-strongly susceptible to psychic, spiritual and non-physical magic attacks without his energy shields but once formed they are of a specific, physical size and can be worked around.
That aside, he’s got an abundance of self confidence and, though he’s well aware of his limitations, he tends to run head long into situations (he’s not a moron or anything, but once “going in” is the plan… he’s going in.)

Public Knowledge of Character: he’s that cosmic-level hero living in that middle class dive down the way from Garvison Mall. You know, the kid on the TV. No, I don’t know where. 200 points would put people on the same level. In the hero-verse and in mmo's no one is ever the same power level. So I did a fudged version of the heroes system to just see some basic stats of a character.

once the forum bugs are fixed ill be making a more official thread and attempt to get it stickied with a streamline cheat sheet.
but if you think there are specific parts of the mutants and masterminds that would benefit a "fast" look please do suggest the parts.

(20)Personal Psychic Blockage: Energy creates interference, since the energy stored in his body is some product of his will or spirit acting on the energy, because somehow it also projects a static psychic field. This doesn't block telepathy, but makes it hard for his waves and others he's thought of protecting.

Description of powers:

Terry's Power's make him act effectively like a battery, storing any form of Energy Terry is aware of, naturally his body absorbs sunlight and stores it in cells to expel on command in the form of kinetic energy(Force bubbles or blasts as well as solid energy objects), Heat or fire, and Radiation. He can absorb other forms of energy but they aren't 'natural' to him and prolonged storage can change Terry's powers, though expelling the energy will restore them to normal. His normal powers cause his body to burn elements in the vacuoles of his cells and reform them into proteins and other nutrients, his cells never feel fatigue and never break down. His powers being psychokinetic, at some level his mind is willing repair of the tissue. Enough awareness without control could be dangerous. He's not very skilled yet, mostly solid, exploding blasts and flaming blasts are the best he can produce, all mingled in a gold and blue energy.

Other Skills/perks/talents:

Good Arm?: Terry's a baseball player in highschool, so he's gotten some experience chucking projectiles at people. He's an accurate pitcher, if a bit limited in his skills. Fast Ball and curve balls were his best.

Disadvantages/Weaknesses:

No Training: Aside from some courses required by law for registering as a Hero, Terry has no real idea how to defend himself, he's sloppy and full of exploitable openings.

Will Based Powers: Defensively Gold-fire would be defenseless if knocked unconscious.

Power Loss: His powers make his body function a lot like a battery, therefore most of his powers are completely useless if he expends all of the energy his body has stored. Inherent absorption of radiation can eventually repower his body, but full drain could mean days of recharge without a large source of power to drain and convert.

Well, those who think their on a lower level can always no spend the points. Those on a higher level would just have to suffer. :p

Mind you, I agree with the statement. The idea came more from the people who think "My concept of a no experience, first week on the job, barely knows their powers, has no fight training or experience, should have an equal chance against any character concept."

Or the "My Robin character can beat up your Superman character."

You know, basic MMO RP problems. :p

Well, how exactly my plays out when CoT is released, I have no idea (I have no intention for instance of saying she's from the CoH universe, like I do now in CO. CoH is dead, and from an RP standpoint CoHers have different views on how it ended. Some say the universe was destroyed, some say it's still there, they just moved on or were forcibly removed).

Her hero outfit is setup with limited impervium metal that helps avoid dismemberment (boot zippers, impervium lined collar, zipper on outfit) though she takes blunt force trauma rather well (typical of superheroes) and is immune to enviormental cold effects (she's not going to be hurt because someone made it ninth level of hell chilly) and is immune to mind reading.

Offense List: She uses weapons! She uses them well! She can go all Jackie Chan if needed. But she has favored weapons. Her real offense potential comes from the ability to penetrate most forms of OMG INVUNERABILITY after some time! Truthfully this is just MMO RP talk for, you will get hurt if you get hit, you will get hurt, this isn't DC Comics, this isn't a PnP RP with better defined rules, so be all Superman and OMG Godlike...Jess can still hurt you. This is MMO RP talk for, this is how the gun toting/dagger toting hero was able to shoot/hit the ghost NPCs. This is how she soloed the ITF without incarnate abilities. :p In CO currently she relies on Martial Arts, Dual Pistols and Chained Kunai (which CoT will hopefully have and do better than CO's chain attacks!)

Description of powers:

Supernatural levels of Regeneration/Agility/Dexterity. Dark Vision. Immunity to Mind Reading/Cold Enviormental Effects. Supernatural physiology (being a human/supernatural dna spliced creation) making her resistant (not immune) to poisons/disease, fatigue, and she doesn't age.

Other Skills/perks/talents: Skilled Combat/Weapons Specialist. While not a super genius, she is a tactical one. Master Chess player. ASL, Braille, Japanese and French languages. She doesn't have body hair (yes she has a head of hair and eyebrows) so totally saves money on not needing to shave her legs! She considers this one of her better perks!

Disadvantages/Weaknesses: Teenage hormones. Distrust of government. While her regeneration is superhuman levels, it's not immune to -Regen effects (in Mutants & Masterminds she has the Penetration Extra on Regeneration Power...so while not likely to get hit with "never regenerate again!" it can be slowed and even halted for a time). While she suffers some amnesia from her escape from the project that was about to be wiped out (not just the projects themselves, but even those involved in it) she has flashes of memories from her time, which can cause her to fall into a weeping, need to catch her breath, ball on the floor. Generally this is in private moments and less when in the field (Though, telepaths who can trigger her memories, without actually reading them, have made use of this), and even with all her training/skills, even she can fail.

She also has an adversion to using most technology. While she knows how to use it, even minor programming skills (not super hacker levels mind you), as a product of the government, she knows what they do, and as such she doesn't rely on a cellphone (her comm is setup by a trusted SG member, and doubles as a "Why you so paranoid to have that much security" cellphone, and doesn't use her own personal computer nearly as much as most modern day people, though she'll make comments to suggest otherwise. Twitter...Facebook...she avoids them!

The standard issue tool for Nyssarian scouts are the metalic gauntlets called Temporal claws. Tuned to the right frequency, they are able to cut through time space, enabling the wearer to (among other things) cut through most any materal, either physically or by creating a "door" to the other side of the materal.

beyond her gauntlets, Lynx benifits from her people's natural gift of exceptionally advanced sensory systems allowing her to manipulate an environment, the objects in it, and herself in fantastic ways (feats of balance, accuracy and martial combat... the messier the location, the better)

Nyhhsarian Senses: (Lynx Sense)

All Nyhhsarians are born with a hyper developed system of sensory physiology.
Not simply "heightened senses," Nyhhsarians have expansive and often redundant systems that dramatically improve and expand their capacity to perceive and react to their environment (compared to humans).
This capacity, over the course of their lives also significantly improves many of post-sensory processes.
There is also some evidence to suggest they are able to amplify or more precisely codify theor pheromone release to affect others.

Nyhhsarian sight is different from human in the extraordinary quantity of rods and cones their eyes can utilize, the variety of rods their eyes possess (they are pentachromatic), and more nerve connections between photoreceptors and her brain. Further, they are able to more precisely and dramatically control the pupil/iris muscles of their eyes allowing for clear vision in extremes of light and darkness, the latter producing a tapetum lucidum effect.

Nyhhsarian audition (hearing) is augmented by extensive musculature in their ears that can gently shift the ear canal and flex the eardrum, enabling a greater frequency range, distance and (in a general sense) a form of echolocation.

Their Gustation (sense of taste) is four times more sensitive than humans, often able to determine chemical compositions of a substance, and some are able to “taste” through any skin contact, not just the mouth.

Nyhhsarian sense of smell is expansive including an oversized accessory olfactory system revolving around a vomeronasal organ. Their sense of smell is precise enough that they are able to determine the direction and distance to a smell based on subtle differences in sensation. Nyhhsarian comeronasal organ are fully activated and the subsequent olfactory system allows them to perceive and decode the pheromone signals of most fauna, including humans to a great degree. It has been suggested that, if functioning like other organs of this type, its receptor signals skip the conscious parts of the brain, moving directly to the amygdale and hypothalamus. This unnatural quality for a human seems to enable near precognitive reaction to organic interactions. It has also been suggested that this automatic response to pheromones might be the cause of some more unusual Nyhhsarian behaviors.

As previously stated, Many Nyhhsarians exhibit the ability to taste through touch. Their somatosensory system is likewise modified by other senses.

Nyhhsarian vestibular sensitivity is beyond that of humans enabling a nearly perfect sense of balance and absolute position in three-dimensional space.

Their thermoception is both more varied (they are able to sense infrared radiation and accurately judge environmental temperatures) and more manageable (they are better able to tolerate/accommodate extremes of cold and heat). Their internal body temperature is naturally slightly higher than normal humans (averaging 104 degrees Fahrenheit)

Like their vestibular sensitivity, Nyhhsarian proprioception is exceptional, and they are equally able to judge relative positions of body parts to themselves, as they are to their relative position in her immediate surroundings (if a Nyhhsarian has been in a room before, she could walk through it, and pick up a glass from the table while blindfolded.)

Nyhhsarian Chronoception is significantly more acute than the average human, and they are adept at maintaining perfect relative time in their local environment, even when deprived of other senses.

Lastly, their chromosomal telomeres are uncommonly long and in tests, very resistant to consummation. It is entirely likely that once traditional aging begins, it will last significantly longer than the normal human (living well into their hundreds before such aging begins, and as many years or more beyond that.)

Beyond the above, Lynx also claims to have native directional awareness (she knows where she is, exactly, in her sensory environment (like GPS), and in relation to everything else in her immediate environment (like soundless eocolocation)) as well as the ability to detect electric fields, but there is no detectable Nyhhsarian biological system to account for these claims.

Lynx is something of a kleptomaniac (though she calls "trophies") rarely does she take anything of value (feathers, broken bits of machinery, torn pieces of clothing or costumes... trash) however she doesn't always understand the value of earth objects immediately (credit cards, flash drives, jewelry, any sort of drug paraphernalia... things that lack intrinsic value but are otherwise interesting.)

In Nyhhsarian society (with senses so high most thoughts are not "private") arousal is no more shameful or odd than blushing or snorting as someone laughs (humorous quirks), and sexual encounters are all but completely divested from "love." Lynx generally likes the cut of human men, they're more rugged and more reserved then Nyhhsarian men, and finds it highly attractive how they respond to her relatively straightforward propositions, no matter how heroic or villainous they seem otherwise.

Without her temporal claws, though stronger than any human, she is much less effective in combat. Also, the claws must be attuned to the appropriate frequency to achieve their awesome potential (which generally depends on the material in question) without proper adjustment, they are little more effective then steel blades.

Any form of sensory deprivation, other than loss of sight, bothers her immensely.

while she has control enough over her senses not to be overwhelmed by any sort of "sensory overload" in normal contexts, any strong smells, extreme noises or changes in light will have a much more dramatic affect on her than they might on human. this is particularly true of liquids touching her skin. Her home planet of Alryeuur is moderately arid and the excessive still water and rain (and it's often high acid content) of Earth bothers her.

Milk, milk products, and milk byproducts are heavily intoxicating and large quantities can be poisonous.
