I played CoH on release. Went through all the issues. Formed a great SG full of friends and have so many great memories of missions.
Some of the best memories we have are running missions together through ALL the zones. This was before the "mini" trial got put in in Atlas Park. Where you could come out of the tutorial, run the trial a few times and be lvl 20 before ya knew it. We ran Perez Park missions, Kings Row missions and so on. Some really great memories.
I don't really know how to ask this, so I'll just say it. Please don't put a trial in that a person can do right out of the tutorial and hit level 20 right away. Perez Park, Kings Row.....all of em emptied out because of this.
Either that or make the next zone from Alexandria a level 20 zone, and put a trial right after the tutorial.
Just an idea.
Additions such as the sewer trial (I could never remember it's proper name) are generally only seen in older games, which CoH was at that point. Rather than force people to run through the same zones over and over, or add new low level zones (which would be consumed and discarded very quickly), they drop in the sewer trial so people can level quickly and relatively painlessly. At that point CoH also had its incarnate end game content.
Considering that the game will launch with a level cap at 30 (or potentially 40) I think it's safe to say that the leveling experience is likely to be slower than what we were accustomed to in CoH.

Which is strange, because it was about the only game out there, that i can think of, that really did this.
World of Warcraft for sure didn't do this, that isn't to say that Blizzard didn't speed up the levelling process overall.
