Fashonista

Hello my fellow fashionistas!

I'm so stoked about this game. Everyone's going on about what they want put into the game. But we fabulous few actually get to design what we want! #LuckyUs

I wanted to wait until we'd seen more of the game to ask but now that we've seen some of the basic body polygons in previous updates what are you designing?

I'm curious as to how much

I'm curious as to how much freedom we'll have to make stuff and how much actual understanding of 3D graphics I personally might need to actually do it. I have almost no real clue what I'll be designing at this point, as most of my toons in CoH used the basic spandex tights most of the time anyway. I'm also a little curious as to what constitutes "costume texturing" versus what is considered "an add-on that counts as a weapon/item", because Fashionista included one weapon/item in addition to the TWO you got in the included lower levels of support under it.

Ive been doing a lot of

Ive been doing a lot of thought on this as well. Right now I am leaning towards an armor set for my main, which I might wait a bit after release before activating. I had a crazy idea to make each piece in my set completely different from the others giving me that many more unique pieces for other costumes.

I did ask the devs durring Kickstarter if we ask for and item that was identical, or nearly, to something already in the game, or anothers request. The return reply was that they would make each costume unique to the requester.

So I am still torn between designing individual pieces or a complete set. As far as 3D rendering or anything like that, I am lost in the sauce, which is why I am paying them. I have several sketches and drawings of each piece and the complete set. I am trusting that when the devs need to contact us about our purchase there will be a very detailed guide on what they need from us as well as what latitude we are given towards the extravaganse of our designs.

I've designed a uniform for

I've designed a uniform for my Supergroup. There are three NEED to have armor components (Jacket, Abdomen plate and chaps) and the tights. The tights are really just a tiny emblem on a basic design so assuming the devs give us the ability to have 3 emblems (two on sholder one on chest) on our tights design we may not need the devs to design them.

Because we have a specially designed jacket, i wonder if the fabric movement will be available too. Either way It's just nice to know our design will be surveilling Titan City

It'll be interesting to see how this all turns out. All things being equal the MWM Devs will have to expect that some people's Fashionista requests will be far more difficult to implement than others.

I suspect some people's submissions will be relatively simple and require very little player/Dev interaction. On the other hand there will be cases where the Devs and players will likely have to go back-n-forth to compromise on a workable solution. And in the long run there will be some players who'll never be completely satisfied with what the Devs come up for them. It's just bound to happen regardless of everyone's good intentions.

My hope is that most of the Fashionista requests will fall into the "easy to do" category. According to the Kickstarter page there's at least 60+ people getting custom costumes or items made, and that's not counting all the extra "Everything is Better in Plaid" texture add-ons and such there might be out there. Basically I'm just hoping the Devs haven't overwhelmed themselves by agreeing to do a lot more unique customized work than they were prepared to do.

I'm loosely formulating some

I'm loosely formulating some ideas now, which could change completely by the time they actually ask me what I want, but I can definitely say now that I won't be a perfectionist about it in any case. If it's not exactly how I imagined, so be it. Right now even I am only as far as "I want something that kind of evokes {some specific trope}, what can you do that looks and feels like that?"
