Name: Evelyn Heather Rhodes
Nicknames: Eve (parents' nickname); Ever (preferred nickname).
Alias: Belladonna
Origin Type: Inherent Ability
Age: 16
Date of Birth: September 19th (Virgo)
Gender: Female
Features: Ever stands at 5'6", built with lean muscles for speed and dexterity and carries herself cautiously, yet confidently. She has wavy brown hair down to the base of her shoulder blades, smoky blue eyes that almost seem violet in certain lights, and a pale white skin tone. She has an oval face, high cheekbones, wide eyes and a slightly aquiline nose. Her ears have a slight point to them as well. She has no tattoos or notable visible markings. While she seems to dress casually, a good eye can see that her clothes seem to be on the high-end of a price tag.
Likes: Physical contact (situational), proving herself, order and cleanliness, art - especially abstract, fruits, fresh air, and games (video, board, or otherwise).
Dislikes: Physical contact (situational), being in hospitals, people doing her jobs for her or assuming she needs help - even if she does, disorganization, being surprised/scared/shocked, sushi, and winter.
Fears: Accidentally harming someone she cares for due to her powers, spiders, needles, and dependancy.
Positive Character Traits: Neat, cautious, confident, attentive, rational, adaptable, polite, kind, and generous.
Negative Character Traits: Cynical, stubborn, rarely-if-ever asks for help, quick-tempered, impulsive, competitive, sarcastic, and at times dishonest and disobedient.
Fatal Flaw: Self-Reliance
Lawfulness: For the most part, she follows the law, but is willing to break it if need be.
Aggression: Quick to anger, quick to forgive. She tries not to be too violent.
Honor: Keeps her promises - tries to anyway - though has been known to lie and go behind others' backs at times.
Notable Relatives:
Elizabeth Rhodes (mother, human, alive) -- a lawyer who believes supers should have stricter laws, though has never taken direct action against those laws.
Nathan Rhodes (father, mutant, alive) -- an artist working at a local graphical design studio, though his wife and daughter know nothing of his presence there or his status as a mutant. He currently uses an alias.
Relationships:
Elizabeth Rhodes -- Her mother. Their relationship is rocky, at best. Though Ever loves her mother, they're often remote. Elizabeth is upset with her daughter's lack of desire for physical contact and has often sought out doctors to see what's wrong (much to Ever's anger). Not to mention they have conflicting ideas on supers - seeing as Elizabeth is pro-restriction and, unknown to her, Ever is a super.
Nathan Rhodes -- Her father. He walked out on Ever and her mother eight years ago, though has given enough proof that he's still alive, as he sends his daughter birthday cards and other letters (without a return address). However, while Ever and her father used to have a great relationship, it's now very distant and neutral.
Leroy -- Ever's pet snake. Specifically of the desert phase striped California kingsnake variety. Though he's just a pet, Ever seems to have a very good connection with the reptile - evident in that he's one of very few that she'll willingly come into contact with on a regular basis.
Occupation: Student. She's also [intended to be] on the hero side of things, but prefers not to be on the frontline. Instead, she'd help out around HQ and provide knowledge of poisons and medicines (given study and training). That doesn't mean she can't or won't go out into the field, however.
Current Residence: Alexandria district, Titan City, Massachusetts.
History:
Evelyn Heather Rhodes was born in Concord, New Hampshire on September 19th to Elizabeth and Nathan Rhodes - a human and (secretively) a mutant, respectively. For a short while, the family was happy and close, but after a few years, Nathan and Elizabeth began arguing. It initially started with her pro-restriction views on supers and his pro-freedom ones, but it escalated until everything seemed to be a conflict. When Evelyn was eight years old, her father finally decided to walk out of their lives. Since then, Nathan has continued to send her letters and cards, though without a return address. Just enough to let her know he was still alive and cared for his daughter.
If he knew that his daughter shared his status as a mutant, he would have never left her with her mother. Around the time Evelyn was eleven, going on twelve, her powers began to emerge. When the girl was playing in the back yard, she stumbled across berries. Mistaking them for blueberries, she began to eat them - to no effect but the sweet taste. Not long after, trouble started happening at school. Students and staff would suddenly become incapacitated with dizziness, convulsions, and more - sometime even fatally so. The news began to spread of nightshade poisoning in the school and some parents would pull their children out in fear for their safety. Evelyn was one of them.
Watched over by her usual sitter one day, Evelyn began to play in the yard once again. Wanting a snack, she headed over to where the berries grew, but before she could eat any, she was jerked away from them by her sitter. Surprised by the action, she could feel herself sweat - but something seemed off about that. It was almost like an instinctual self-defense mechanism that caused her sitter to let go of her charge's arm and wipe her hand off. Regardless, she began to lead Evelyn away from the bush, explaining that the berries were, in fact, nightshade. The very thing that was harming and killing people at her school. Seeing as Evelyn was unharmed, herself, the sitter figured that the girl had yet to ever come in contact with the plant.
An unwise assessment. It didn't take long before the sitter collapsed and began convulsing. Evelyn, though initially stunned at what she was seeing, rushed to the phone and called emergency services. However, they would not make it on time. Evelyn helplessly watched as her sitter died in front of her. In the end, no one would accuse the girl of anything - she was a child, knew nothing about the plant and experienced no effects - but she had put the pieces together: She had somehow poisoned all these people by mere contact. It was her fault. Still, as a terrified young girl, she could not bring herself to admit this to the authorities.
Not long after, the Rhodes family moved out of Concord and the place where the incident happened - though the memories still seemed to haunt Evelyn. Since then, she refused physical contact from everyone, pulling away whenever they tried. Even when they moved into Titan City, she would barely leave the house their first year there, forcing her mother to hire a tutor to homeschool her. In secret, Evelyn would study her new powers; seeing what she was immune to and what abilities she possessed. Slowly, she learned to control what she could and avoid danger with what she couldn't. Slowly, she began to go out into the world more and more.
Hearing her mother complain about the 'absurdly loose' laws protecting supers in the city, Evelyn made her decision. Finally, she gathered up the courage to register. Even if it was under an alias, it was still a step forward. Soon after, she began to attend public school. However, she still avoided direct physical contact when she could.
Miscellaneous:
--The alias she registered under was Belladonna - perhaps as a way of admitting or coming to terms with her past, as Atropa belladonna is the scientific name for deadly nightshade. Or perhaps she just found it as cruel irony. Though using the name of a plant, she seems to have more affinity to snakes.
--She calls herself Ever. It's taken from her first and last name, [Eve]lyn [R]hodes. Ever also means 'always; at any time'. It's reliable, and in a city that's constantly moving at super speeds, it reminds her that she can rely on herself - that she remains. Naming herself this (not to mention the act, itself) could be a sign of her desire for independence and self-reliance.
--Even if her powers are nulled by cleansing her system, suppressed, or otherwise useless, she will still avoid contact unless she's making a conscious effort not to. This could mean it's not just precaution, but psychological as well.
--In regards to Evelyn's mother's views on supers and the conflict of why she moved to a place where supers run wild: Where better for her voice to be heard? Also, it seems to be a good spot for a lawyer looking for work.

Power(s): Toxikinesis and Mental Link (Serpents)
Strengths: Her power of toxikinesis offers excellent health, due to immunity to poisons/venoms/toxins/drugs/alcohol; She can poison just about anything without an immunity (via things like sweat, blood, tears, breath, etc.); Ingesting poisons can provide her with the illusion of fullness (though she still requires actual sustenance to survive); With her mental link to snakes, they are rarely agitated around her and will rarely attack her - some might even attack others for her.
Weaknesses: Her immunities also mean she can't take medicine - whether it's for something as simple as a headache or as complicated as surgery; Every time someone comes in physical contact with her, there's a chance she can transfer toxins - even if this victim is friendly; It's also difficult to poison those with natural or crafted armor, requiring weapons or trickery to bypass it; Absorbed poisons mix freely within her system, meaning deadlier poisons to worry about from her; Cleansing her system of toxins leaves her in a rare sickly state (akin to a bad flu) for a day or two, and rids her of her natural defenses.
Tells: When actively using her power - even unknowingly - her eyes dilate. This does not happen for passive abilities.
Full List of Superhuman Abilities:
--Mental Link (Serpents)--
Serpents' Kinship (P) : A limited psychic bond to snakes, allowing a harmony between her and them. Almost like being an honorary member of their species. This does not allow her to control them or stop them from attacking her if she manages to agitate them.
Serpent Empathy (P) : Able to feel the emotions of snakes. The stronger the feeling, the more it affects her.
Sensory Scrying (Serpents) (A) : Under extreme amounts of focus and high levels of power, it's possible that she is able to hijack the senses of nearby snakes or snakes she knows very well.
--Toxikinesis--
Toxic Immunity (P) : Immune to poisons or anything with the potential to be poisonous. Aside from toxins and venoms, this includes drugs (both medical and recreational) and alcohol.
Toxic Detection (P) : Has the ability to sense p/t/v/d/a though does not have innate knowledge of them.
Toxic Cleansing (A) : Can safely rid her body of p/t/v/d/a over time - typically one or two days. It has the drawback of a flu-like state as well as ridding her of her natural defenses. However, this allows her to have physical contact with someone without worrying about poison.
Toxic Absorption/Ingestion (P) : Can freely absorb and ingest poisons/toxins/venom/drugs/alcohol [p/t/v/d/a] into her system.
Illusion of Fullness (P) : Ingesting poisons gives her the illusion of being full - keeping her from becoming unfocused and weakened by hunger.
Poisonous Mix (P) : Has no control over the poisons she contains, therefore they mix together to become deadlier.
Toxin Inhalation (A) : Can inhale p/t/v/d/a from the air or from a target, curing them (or perhaps ailing them, in the case of medicine). Wide-ranging, with focus.
Poisonous Secretion (P/A) : Contains poisons within her body, making her sweat/saliva/blood/tears/etc poisonous. It's a natural defense, increasing the chance to poison someone with prolonged exposure. It can be used to coat weapons - natural or otherwise. This ability is usually passive, though can be halted with focus.
Poisonous Aura (A) : Emits an aura that can make people around her feel poisoned (though they might not be), causing things such as dizziness or nausea. Can unknowingly activate this under duress.
Poisonous Breath (A) : Can breathe out gaseous p/t/v/d/a into the air or into a victim.
Hey, all! Decided to finally come out of the shadows and create a character for roleplaying. It may be a tad long - sorry about that. I've tried to balance her as best as I can, but if you think she needs some more development, let me know. :) Keep in mind, though, that she's designed from an rp perspective and not a gameplay one.
