Apparently, when the hacker back in January got in, they hid a file which enabled them to send out emails using our server as a relay. However, our email was broken, so we had no idea. When we fixed that, spotted it right away. Tracked down the at-fault file, and then did a thorough cleaning of our site to make sure it was all gone.
They never got access to the database itself, but their use of our site as a relay did cause our db access log to become gigantic, over 16GB. Had to take the site down for a bit in order to clean that out. All done now. Doing that erased the view count on posts, which I am sorry about, but better than the alternative.
Now, will be doing some more adjustments on our look and feel over the next week or so, and I hope you all like the result.
