BOOM!

The Aether Pirate Blimp careened right into the helicopter pad of Newman Finanacial, a boiler berg dropped from above and crashing into and through the skyway connecting the building to a nearby stock company, sending rubble to the streets stories below.

The walkway connecting the finance building to the elevator was severed, trapping occupants inside like a suspended fishbowl.

Energy rifle bearing pirates racing down via jet packs, opening fire on responding TCPD units in helicopters, covering for the boilerberg captain to smash his way into the financial building, his sights set on the kidnapping of bankers and stock agents on the top floor.

With an ongoing attack, citizens trapped both in an elevator and on a crumbling skyway, rubble falling towards citizens below, and a powerful boiler berg engaging security uncontested-the situation looked dire.

The TCPD can’t handle this alone, Titans are needed!

On the streets below, TIAS grad student Evan Yang blinked as TCPD cars swerved onto the street and began to cordon the area off, citizens raced around, screaming and taking photos as the blimp parked itself on the skyscraper facing them, blocking out the view of the sun and clouds above, before he is taken out of his shock by a shout from a TCPD sergeant.

“RUBBLE, everybody move now!”

Stone blocks, glass, and pieces of steel from above began to crash into the street, citizens scattering, and before he could move, Evan himself being sent to the floor by a fleeing banker, his glasses smashed against the sidewalk.

Turning just in time to look above and see the rubble that would surely end his life, Evan raised his hands and prepared to be crushed.

Only...he wasn’t.

Something in the air changed, his raised hands emanating a energy that could only be described as counter to the rubble’s gravity, suspending it a car’s length away from crushing him and a Good Samaritan who tried to pull him out of the street.

Open mouthed and in shock, Evan allowed himself to be pulled up, hands still raised, as TCPD and paramedics now worked to get others out of the street, allowing the rubble to crash and it’s original gravity to resume.

Shaking his head, grateful to be alive, and appropriately scared shitless, he filed along with other cordoned civilians, hoping he wasn’t the only superpowered (and woefully new) individual on the scene.
