Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

It's kinda hard for us to do

It's kinda hard for us to do anything about what people assume in their heads. We say 'no voice actors or acting' and it's true. If it's not involving intelligible words, it's sound effects, and can be achieved via a sound effects library.

Actual speech involves many inflections, and it takes a talented person to act it well. But those random noises? Any ol' guy and then some work by our FX team will do. Assuming we don't just shell out 15 bucks for all the effects we'll need for the next five years, which is probably also an option (but our sound guy would probably still do some tweaking).

Put another way, it's a simple matter of distinguishing between what every game of almost every budget level has - like grunts and ughs and fierce shouts - and actual speech. Not that hard.

Late to this thread/update

Late to this thread/update but just wanted to say that I admire MWM for the approach. I expect games like this have great psychological value for everyone who is far from 'super' irl, so the more CoT can avoid excluding the very people who might find the most release in such a game, the better.

Spurn all ye kindle.

Basically what I am meaning is that while we're building a game, we're also building a living virtual city, and it's the relationships and interactions between the people who inhabit it that gives it its soul. That is not to diminish the importance of the actual game, rather to admit that the game-play itself can only go so far in providing enjoyment.

WOW! What you said was heartwarming. I'm now 100% going to play City of Titans when it comes out. This is something I like.
I'm sort of a "MMO Hopper" I play one MMO for a little while and then I do a different one. The reason I don't stay in a single MMO long is because I have a hard time making friends on these game.(Exception: I have cousins on Lord of The Rings Online so I'm committed to that game cause I want to spend more time with them) City of Titans feels like I will find some new friends on it. Playing an MMO by yourself can get boring, but Playing with People and getting to know them in-game can be the most fun.

I accidently ate a bowl of radioactive soup....ok I guess that makes me a Soup-er Hero

Thank you.

The reality is, I've been developing a model for the evolution and extinction of societies for the better part of the past decade, and that's the source for the bulk of the research I'd mentioned. With minimal exception the basic conclusion is that, humans need other humans in order to remain certain of how to be human - or in other words, extreme isolation is a substantial hazard to mental health. There's a reason why the behavior patterns of animals raised in captivity are notably different from those raised in the wild, after all - they weren't inoculated with the behavior of others of their kind to the same degree as their wild kin, generally speaking.

That's why we're trying to set things up that even if you play entirely solo throughout your stay with City of Titans, you do not feel isolated.

It is only when we stand up, with all our failings and sufferings, and try to support others rather than withdraw into ourselves, that we can fully live the life of community.
