Darkblade

Basically me writing my version of an early '90s Image Comics superhero who was time-displaced into the present.

Name: Maximilian "Maxi" Profit
Alias: Darkblade
Age: 26 (phys.), 50 (chron.)
Nationality: American
Appearance: 6'2", a muscular man with shaggy brown hair.
Costume: Darkblade wears a black jacket over a suit of body armor, and has a custom black mask that resembles a skull. He has holsters for his pistols, and a scabbard on his back for his special sword.
Powers and Abilities: Darkblade is a psionic with special mind powers, such as tactile telekinesis and forcefields. He can also use his psionic abilities to simulate enhanced strength, speed, and agility. This, combined with his advanced hand-to-hand combats skills and training with his firearms makes him a very deadly combatant. Also, true to his name, he carries a sword, which his psionic powers leverage the use of.

Bio:

Maximilian Profit was born in Los Angeles in 1968. From an early age, he grew up to an abusive father, and often stayed away from home to be with his friends in the tough living of low-income LA. This did a lot to both give him a sense of justice as he protected others from harm, but also hardened him so he felt little for evildoers. When one incident of his father beating him lead to him discovering his psionic abilities by tossing him across the room, Maxi was kicked out of the home forever. From there, Maxi became part of a secret covert ops branch of the military when he was only 18, utilizing his psionic abilities combined with his training in various weapons to take down terrorists, criminals, and infiltrate rogue nations. He was given the call sign "Darkblade", for the special sword he utilized in tandem with his abilities.

In 1992, Darkblade became the leader of a team called the Strike Force. They were an elite government-sanctioned team of superheroes who were also celebrity stars, appearing on talk shows and having merchandising. They were also much more morally gray than other heroes, using lethal force even when it wasn't necessary and acting rather gritty and edgy to others. Darkblade as no exception, as he would say "Can't make an omelette without cracking a few skulls." This fad of new, edgier heroes caught on for a while, especially with the crowds that skewed young and male.

However, an incident happened in 1994, when they went on a mission in Titan City. The Strike Force was order to covertly take down a scientist named Dr. Wicked who was inventing a secret weapon that would endanger the world, but what it was hadn't been clear yet. As ordered, the Strike Force came charging in and took down Wicked's men before getting to the man himself.

"Any last words?" Darkblade said.

"Enjoy your trip in the never-ending flux of time and space!" Dr. Wicked said.

Then the Strike Force was hit with an energy ray from his secret weapon. The blast didn't kill or even hurt them but rather they were trapped in a vortex. Nothing made sense as were in the time stream. It only lasted twenty-four minutes though, but each minute represented a year in real time. When Darkblade was released, he ended up in today's year: 2018.

Making sense of the situation, he also learned that his kind of heroism has long been frowned upon by the people, who now embrace the traditional hero. In turn, he was not welcomed in open arms because of it, but rather mocked for being such an outdated kind of hero. One that used '90s slang, listened to grunge, and didn't know a thing about the modern world. Now trying to adjust, Darkblade has a long way to go before he can adapt to the current times.

Well at least neither one of you will have to spell it like that in CoT thanks to Global Naming. ;)

I once saw an "Angle Kiler" in CO. I dunno how one Kiles an Angle but that guy apparently does just that.

"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."

Kile is apparently a text

Kile is apparently a text editor. So, apparently, one could 'Kile' an 'Angle', by editing the spelling correctly.

Be Well!
