On the Dark Side of Town RP

Skindancer slithered along the fire escape, above the deadly streetlights. She was hungry, so hungry, and she needed a new face, soon. But if anyone saw her without one, as she was now- well, it would be too bad for her. She was way too weak to either fight or run again.

What are the chances my last donor would be wanted for killing her husband- and him a State cop, as well! What the devil was a woman like that doing in the restroom of a suburban mall, right out in front of everybody?

It had cost her a bullet in the hip and three quick shifts to get out of that one. Now, she was a hundred miles away, but weak, faceless, hurting. Until she found enough food to shift again, found a new donor, the bullet would stay in there, being a bloody nuisance...

But she had found what she was looking for: a small group of 'ladies of the evening', huddled under a lamp for company and, they thought, safety. It would be tricky, getting them apart, but one of them was even the right size, roughly- getting a lot taller or shorter, or heavier, hurt as well. All she had to do was wait. She was good at that.

And it's not like anyone ever missed one of those girls, when they went missing...

Darkness flowed or so it

Darkness flowed or so it seemed as Unknown was about. Falling deeper into the dark side of right and wrong the mass of black goo slid up a wall and formed the humanoid shape of his human host. Below were a group of street workers huddling in the light. Victims of drug dealers most likely hooked on a drug and made to work for the addiction. More signs of the cancer that are the poisoners of the city. It was the only way Unknown could grasp crime as a cancer a sickness that sucked the life out of the healthy parts of city. The alien awareness couldn't grasp greed or lust, but if it viewed the city as one large collective being then it could grasp things. Like the Drug dealers poisoning others bringing sickness to the city. Then like any such cancer the problem needed to be cut out.

As she watched, a rattletrap

As she watched, a rattletrap old car smoked and chattered to the curb. A window rolled down, and one of the girls wriggled over to talk to the prospective customer. The negotiation was short- it wasn't like she had a huge amount of bargaining power- and she slipped into the car and was gone.

Then there were two. She could wait a while longer, to be safe- she could absorb both, but it would be tougher, always the chance of attracting attention. But something felt...wrong. A smell, a sense...the hundreds of lives she 'remembered' had no words for it; it was a predator's instinct, not something rational.

It was something primal two

It was something primal two predators two hunters in the same area. Thought the chosen prey were far different. With a sprint he leaped off the building he was on and his arms spread becoming glider like wings till he crossed the gap and landed on the building across the street. Once more taking on a more human form he walked to the edge and looked down to the waiting hookers and then his gaze looked to the darkened alleyway trying to determine if it was clear for him to descend.

Skindancer cringed back into

Skindancer cringed back into the opening of a window frame as SOMETHING- something not unlike herself- leapt from across the alley and landed on the roof several stories above her. Her skin streaked, flickered, took on the appearance of brick and metal as she used her waning strength to shift and camouflage herself.

Was it one of her sisters? As far as she knew she had absorbed them all when she escaped, but...no. Whatever it was had wings...She was in no shape for a fight, she *needed* the donors below her- but something else was hunting her alley. Cautiously, she checked the window behind her, to see if she could break the frame and get inside and out of sight.

Seeing nothing he dropped

Seeing nothing he dropped down the six stories to the ground below. That was noticed by the remaining ladies of the night and he lashed out grabbing one with a whip like arm as she screamed the others ran. "You have information I need." He walked closer drawing that band of black whip in. "I... What do you want?" "I want to know who the drug supplier is. Where do they operate." The woman calmed down maybe this was a Hero, a killer would have killed her by now right?

"I don't know. Your a hero right?" He tilted his head thinking a bit. "I will kill if need be." She swallowed then "I don't know the big guys are. But my pimp sells out of his place ... marks street building 307."

Unknown then released her and looked behind him. He could feel something still watching "very well soon you might not have a Pimp to worry about." Then he seemed to melt into a new shape his panther like form and he started climbing back up the side of the building.

Seen, heard, something. At

Seen, heard, something. At first, she thought the interloper was going to steal her meal- but then it /shifted/, and started coming up the wall...dammit, it was hard enough for her to do that trick when she was well-fed. Now, all she could do was burst backwards through the window, and hide in the darkness of the abandoned building. Hiding was something she was very good at- part of what they'd been designed for. Even in plain sight. She only needed a few minutes...and some luck...
