No idea if the option will be possible, but I fully intend to have a magic based hero with a floating orb, rune, or will-o-the-wisp (or maybe even a group of them) that's the emanation point for all their attacks. Like, either they're a manifestation of his power, or maybe (in the case of will-o-the-wisps) he bound them to his service somehow and he commands them via hand signals or gestures or whatnot.
King of Frills and his pet named Chlamy, the frilled lizard is able to spit out poison at his foes.

Aazz looks like a tall noble Arab officer in a white thobe and golden sash. He wields a sword, and his qareen openly sits on his shoulder for all the world to see, casting hellfire and causing general mischief. It is an interesting relationship the two of them have. The qareen, whom Aazz calls Shaytan, but who's real name is unpronouncable, is doing everything it can to corrupt Aazz. It does so by giving him power with the idea that eventually Aazz will abuse it. Aazz, on the other hand, continues to be a force of light in the world and gladly accepts the aid of Shaytan's powers.
Only time will tell how these two adversaries will end up. Unfortunately, since the qareen is by its very nature his constant companion, Aazz has not been able to stay in any place very long. As a result they often have only each other for company and get into long debates of theology, the nature of man and his responsibilities to his fellow man. But whether they will admit it or not, their open relationship is starting to build into a grudging friendship.
Now they have made it to Titan City in the hopes that their unusual arrangement will not be so unusual in this famous city of heroes.
[hr]I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.
At launch? Who knows, otherwise it's just a matter of time.
I'm aiming for doing a tech-variant of exactly that, using spheres or other simple geometric shapes.
Someone is going to have to have a hamster named Boo with some kind of over sized assault cannon.
