This is a relatively small request, but I'd appreciate it if in bases and player housing there's the possibility for basically mannequins you can mount your costumes on.
The biggest arguments from a theme perspective I can think of are the costume stands in the Batcave, as well as power armor stands that you can put in a workshop (just as an example). From a Gameplay perspective, it allows people to show off their designs even when they're not actively wearing them, so if you get invited into someone's personal base you can get a fun look at the things they've done previously. Super Groups, meanwhile, could use such stands for memorials commemorations. Maybe someone has to quit the game due to life stuff, or, god forbid, dies, or on a lighter note manages to to do something really impressive. It'd be a good way to honor people, and I'm sure many would appreciate it, particularly if you can add a plaque explaining what the stand commemorates. Hell, if you made the costume stands scaleable and tradeable, they could be used as rewards for costume contests, showing off previous winners.
Several types of costume stands would work, I think, particularly if we can pose them. Hologram projectors, wooden mannequins, and statues could all work; I imagine different setups would have different visuals (such as a cast iron statue looking much different from one carved out of stone, and a hologram being transparent). Possibly also the ability to pose them, and make the inside invisible if for some reason you don't want something to be wearing the costume (which would make sense for the aforementioned power armor workshop).
An infinite number of tries doesn't mean that any one of those tries will succeed. I could flip an infinite number of pennies an infinite number of times and, barring genuine randomness, they will never come up "Waffles".
This has always been an interesting suggestion - people have been talking about something like this at least as far back as the old CoH forums.
We know that CoT is going to allow us to separately save off costume files and body slider files so that we can recreate various looks for our player characters. It doesn't seem like a very large step to then be able to apply those save files to designated "mannequin" objects that would effectively be static versions of player characters. Obviously you'd want to be able to at least throw a costume onto a generic mannequin. I suppose being able to apply the body slider save files to the mannequins (in order to make perfect static clones of player characters) could be an optional/extra feature that could come later on.
In the long run it might be cool to have different versions of mannequins like you suggest but maybe in the beginning (to keep things simple) they could stick to some simple generic ones like this:

These could be used for just the costume save files. Again later on they could get fancier with this by adding more mannequin types or the ability to apply the body slider save files to them as well.
Since the save files will presumably be tradeable between players in some form or fashion you could just trade files to other players and they could set up their own mannequins for whatever purposes they want (like you said for costume contests and the like).

I like this idea, which seems entirely reasonable and attainable.
I also like the idea to have a mannequin display. In terms of RP'ing I can imagine putting on display how my hero's costume looked and changed in previous decades.

Why stop there? There should be a way to load a screenshot of your hero in action into a picture frame and hang it on the wall.

Knowing that crash dummies already exist ^^ I think it could not be to hard to include even to update the dummies costumes following the actual costume weared by the player :p

Being currently obsessed with BoTW, I would love to see not only clothing displays (because, uhhhh obviously a huge costume fanatic =p ) but also weapon and sheild displays as well. Imagine if you beat Poseidon and you received his trident, what a lovely prize to show off in your base! And then you can put a picture up of you holding up poseidon like a prize fish next to it :D

I like this idea very much. I don't know how practical it might be from a design/programming/graphics perspective, but I do like the idea.

The "putting a costume on a mannequin" part is probably not relatively hard to do software-wise. What's actually going to be the hard part is getting either the supergroup bases and/or player housing working first.
