Costume Ideas

Now, I know it's a long way off, but as a cosplayer, I always think it's never too early to discuss costuming. I'd love to see a lot of Ancient Egyptian themed costuming (I know CoX had some) and even some weapons from that time period that I haven't seen in any other super MMO at all (I'm looking at you, kopesh... >.> ). I'd also like to see rings as a seperate slot from bracelets if the engine can handle it, as it's always annoyed me that I could either have a ring or a set of cuffs, when the character design I've had in my head called for both. Also another annoyance I've seen from CO, is the inability to layer a collar and a broadcollar/pectoral item, which is nessesary for a few characters of mine.

I'd also like to see staves like "Legend of Isis" by Bluewater Comics' Isis has as a weapon option. As far as specific Ancient Egyptian style costuming goes, they are not Gor. I'd love to see more historical and/or based on historical outfits from that time period (like a shift dress with a sheshet net option; which makes a sound similar to a maraca as the person moves. If ya'll need a reference picture my local museum has one and I can go snap a shot of it). Heck even some musical instruments for sound based powers (personally I'd love a sistrum, but other instruments as well) as an option.

I know Ancient Egyptian clothing may take a little bit of research, but so does any cultures' clothing style, historic or not. If ya'll need help in finding experts in Egyptology when you get ready to research the clothing, I know a few and could give you email addresses to them. I can't guarantee that they won't be busy, though.

So, anyone else have any costuming ideas they'd like to share?

I'm on a bronze age binge at

I'm on a bronze age binge at the moment for a tabletop project, so some egyptian/near-eastern pieces couldn't go amiss. I could actually use some for one hero I have planned, the Silver Sirrush, but that would be a vaguely babylonian-looking suit of alien tech, so I have some leeway there.

I want high-collar capes from day one if I can get them. They were super useful on magicians and all other sorts of characters.

I also would like a variety of military dress uniforms, especially some nice period pieces from the napoleonic or franco-prussian wars.

The world is a mess and I just ... need to rule it.

I'd love more egyptian stuff,

I'd love more egyptian stuff, lots of ideas I could run with.

As for me, I'd love a nice selection of trench coats. Medium and long lengths, single and double breasted, open and closed, sleeveless, battle-damaged/torn/shredded, and with at least two textures: cloth and leather.

Not quite a costume piece, But I would love the option to put a symbol on the back of a character.

I think wearable masks would

I think wearable masks would be a fantastic thing to expand on. In CoX there were limited options in this respect (the jester mask and post-apocalyptic hockey mask come to mind).

Instead of just tight spandex or a helmet, what if supers disguised themselves with party masques, or oriental and Polynesian masks? Just something to cover one's face. There's a lot to draw on from history and fiction.

Could we get catsuits wih

Could we get catsuits with tech ornament varients, masks that when put on, could light up like thermal imaging googles, layered pieces and chest wear.....a good example of the former would be Anne Hathaway's Catwoman suit

After thinking for a bit, I

After thinking for a bit, I got another idea. How about hats that have hair that's not uber limiting in the style it can be? I'm mainly thinking of a character of mine that works for a pizza place, and in CO there were only 2-3 hair options with the work baseball cap that was part of her uniform. I would love to see a low ponytail with the ability to have hair stripes. Also, would love to see circlets/crowns with several egyptian-themed motifs/symbols on them (specifically thinking of a winged ankh for my character Lapis as a circlet center charm and a winged scarab for Senet-Ra).
