So I love everything the team is doing in hopes of a new superhero fun time mmo! However another game I was hoping to be made just fell out due to lack of money for funding their work. Revival was the name of said game. I was just curious are the people in the CoT team okay? Got the muns? Got -- Well you know you got the support! Im just hoping the the people working on this game don't feel.... unappreciated? Or something! I don't know. Maybe I'm just a worry wart XD
Have a nice day!
People keep asking for them to come up with more ways for us to donate again, and they keep responding with "We don't know what we'd do with more money, so you can keep it for now."
Personally I think they should just go for the money anyway, and if they raise like "Star Citizen" levels of money, just incorporate immediately at that point instead of waiting for the game to be done. If not, let the added extra sit in the same place the money they currently have is sitting, not gunna hurt anything doing that.

Do you mean Atlas Park Revival? One of the other successor projects? Or another game entirely?
That is disturbing to hear and rather short sighted, no offense to them, trust me, I really like these guys and gals. Star Citizen has a tangible product after 4 years of funding, CoT does not after 3 years? I think it was 3 years.....Correct? Now, those at at Cloud worked on the game far longer than the folks here? Maybe. It is not that simple, to take the years between the two and gauge progress, but at the end of the day, SC had an alpha trailer out during its' 3rd year and these folks were money grabbing like crazy.
I think the Titan folks could definitely use the funds, just my 2 cents. DCUO, 50 million dollar budget, 5 years to make.
As a child, I thought my name was handsome, cause that is what everyone called me.
I think it's more "We don't want to ask for more money without having more to show".

Yes - this has been stated in the past by Warcabbit and *I think* Nate? They probably want something more than lore documents, concept art and stock Unreal4 footage to show off before they start a second round of fundraising. Maybe after the character creator is working and has a bit of polish slapped on?
It seems to me that if people want to give more money, you should just take it. I don't see that having more content to show BEFORE you get the money is necessary or even being asked for. Plus, if you do somehow get like millions of dollars, then you can incorporate, hire full time programmers, get code written and actually have stuff to show for the efforts.
Of course, if I were the person in charge, incorporating would likely mean I'd have to either quit my day job, whatever that is, so as to be CEO of MWM full time, or else cede that position to someone else who is willing and able to serve as CEO. That would cause me to want to adopt a slow and steady approach, I think. New startup video game companies are notoriously shaky investments, and that's just in the stock market. If you're the guy in charge of that company when it goes belly-up, you're in real trouble if you had just quit your other job to follow your passion and do this instead. I mean, what would Curt Schilling have done after his 38 Studios went bankrupt if he didn't have baseball analysis to fall back on? I guess we'll find out now that he's lost that gig too.
For what it's worth, I would donate again having seen only the KS updates so far and having heard the feedback of the devs on these forums to date so far.

I don't see anything like an announcement on their website.
I agree with radiac that if they did open up to further donations they could probably generate enough income to speed development in some way. But you also have to consider that these are not former game designers with the experience to jump in and do that like was the case with Star citizen. They also didn't generate 2.1 million dollars in their kickstarter like star citizen. Sure they made a lot of money but it wasn't the operating budget of even a minor studio for a year or two. Sure they probably could have done it but they wouldn't have had a back up plan and it's a lot to ask to have everyone give up their jobs and turn into a studio with the hopes that they could hammer something awesome out in a couple years and live off the rewards of that labor for the rest of their lives. I'd rather see them slowly plod along a careful path than race along a razors edge.
And sure there is a community here that could donate and want to donate but would it be enough to be worth it? Frankly we'll still be here whether they announce a second round of funding tomorrow or after they release their first hype building trailer. Either way they have our cash and support so why take it now? Why not let us hold onto that money until they are ready to really advertise the game. Then they can report even bigger numbers for their second round and potentially make more news and more money on sales. If you really want to give, set up a little investment fund and put a few dollars in there every week when it comes time to open the second round you'll have even more to give. Also make sure that your last will and testament state what that investment is for, y'know, just in case.
