Final Fantasy 14 has done a lot of things right, and one of those things is the "G Pose" camera mode, in which you can adjust lighting, camera tilt, time of day weather, zoom, the direction characters are looking, the level of graphics (where they'll go back to normal afterwards) and the actions you take from each character, as well as the speed those actions play at. And probably some stuff I missed.
If you want a great example, here's one unmodified image with a normal camera position for the game... and one taken after editing the lighting effects, graphics level, and camera position

The difference is obvious, yeah? You can see the characters' faces, how pretty they are, details in the clothes and around the eyes, and the camera cut and angle cut out most of the problems you associate with the really weird and kind of awful set they're on.
With the extremely heavy regard for aesthetics that City of Titans will have - going so far as to completely disconnect the aesthetics from the mechanics in favor of aesthetic freedom for the players - it seems to me that having a tool to properly edit screenshot positioning like this would be damned useful to any players that take pride in their character design works (which should be most people). I don't know how hard it'd be to implement a camera mode like this, but it seems like the sort of thing that'd be perfect for CoT
An infinite number of tries doesn't mean that any one of those tries will succeed. I could flip an infinite number of pennies an infinite number of times and, barring genuine randomness, they will never come up "Waffles".
I really like this suggestion. The complexity of the posing in CoT might be really crucial for something like this to really hit the right notes. Posing, firing of powers, emotes, etc
I suspect that FFXIV made tradeoffs with character models and armor that made something like this possible.
Also, take a look at that bench clipping :P

It would be cool to give people a means to make their characters look good (or even better, if you prefer) and share them in ways that may not be possible from normal screenshots.

Built-in "selfie" features seem to be popular for games now-a-days. I was semi-amazed to see that even Fallout 76 came with a load tools/options for creating all sorts of interesting in-game screen captures (i.e. camera positioning, lens effects, backgrounds, etc.). I certainly wouldn't be against CoT having such features eventually but like most QoL features like this I don't really think this would need to be a launch day priority.

I agree with you on that - it's not hugely important to make sure something like this is around from day 1. Still, if there's some post-launch dev-time they can dedicate to it, I can see a lot of people happy with having access to it.

We shall call this feature... paparazzi.

I f i remember correctly, something approaching was presented in a video on Twich. A screenshot tool in which you can choose the hour of the day for the dayllight and some other options like a selfie tool.
*look into his articles*
I find it, i knew there was something like that :) it was presented the 10 of january :)

You can also see a preview of this mode on this article : http://titanscity.com/exclu-contenu-inedit-jeu-animations-de-combat-environnement-inventaire-etc/
Go into the Interface/UI tab of the article, then click the 1st picture "Photo Mode" to launch the video :)
It seems to be almost what you talked about :)
