I played CoH for many years, and when NCSoft killed it, I sort of felt like someone who swears off romance after having their heart broken. I purposefully avoided anything that reminded me of CoH for a long time. I used to post reviews on the MA forum, and a few times I reread some of my old reviews, but the thought of never seeing my 34 alts live and fight ever again in Paragon City hurt so much I couldn't face the titan forums, for example.
City of Titans and the kickstarter has given me hope again, and also made me more than a little ashamed that when CoH died I turned my back on it and left the fight to revive it to others. My apologies to those people, and my heartfelt thanks for doing what you've done.
Reading these forums over the past few days has brought back so many memories, I've opened up my arc review folder and logged into my photobucket account again (miraculously still there!)to look at the screenies I took when playing those arcs, and it hurts all over again. I find myself thinking 'NCSoft, you bastards, why did you do it?' again, but this time, I'm feeling a new, and strangely pleasant feeling of...it's not yet gratitude to NCSoft, not yet, I still loathe them. But I'm starting to hope that CoT will be better than CoH, which will serve a double purpose - giving me and my fellow heroes and villains a place to fight the good (or bad) fight once again, like we used to, and also serve to give the finger to NCSoft, to say 'Screw you, we're better off without you'.
Titan City. I've booked my ticket. :D
