I'm just saying. Don't get your hopes up without actual dev input, this likely means a lot of extra work on their part.
I will categorize these props by animation style (one set of animations can work for a number of props as you shall see).
Further, I will update this with suggested items and animation styles

[b]Shield/Frisbee style[/b] same style works for all shields, and discs large and small. There will be no animation of it coming back, it will just pop up when ready.
Shields, Discus, Spiked Discus, Throwing Stars, that Xena throwing hoop thing, Boomerangs. Stop/Traffic Signs
[b]Spears:[/b] Doc Tyche already showed be free animation software for this. doesn't guarantee it will be in the game, just that there was free software out there.
Spears. Physical Lightning bolts thrown the same way. Staves. Hooked Staves (ala the shepards crook), Tridents, Lances, Javelins, Stop Signs still on posts,
[b]Balls/Spheres[/b] Fist sized objects
Baseballs. Shot Put Steel Balls, Rocks, Cans of beer/pop,
[b] Balls that grow giant size[/b] thrown objects (like above) that get BIG after you throw them
Rocks that grow into boulders after you throw them. Same with Balls, cans of Beer that grow into kegs (you're popular at parties)
[b]Giant items[/b] Items appear in your hands and disappear shortly afterwards
Boulders ripped from the ground, Cars, trucks, washing machines, any large machinery. Giant Balls of Steel. Kitchen Sinks

[b]Wolverines[/b] Cannonball special. nuff said

For a lot of these they really just need a basic throw animation. Like a big overhand throw works for shields, spears, balls, Wolverines, etc.
Having alternative throw animations would be nice but not necessary.
Also why isn't this in an animation or props suggestion thread?

I disagree. Shields are thrown Frisbee style. Boulders are thrown overhead. Fist sized objects have their own style.
It's not in the other lists because it combines both animations and props.

But you -can- just use one animation for them.
You can throw a ball overhand.
You can throw a spear overhand.
You can launch a giant physics defying frisbee off your arm overhand.
You can throw a boulder one handed overhand.
Just because you'd like additional animations for them doesn't mean that they necessitate them.

Would you count telekinetically thrown/moved objects here? Or objects that are “created” to it of energy a la green lantern constructs? My thinking is there could be a “throwing animation” used where the object follows the trajectory paved by a hand motion. Or not, depending on what the player wants :)

TK doesn't need human animations. A GL construct can still emanate from an out stretched hand--already included in standard ranger animations.
These props require more specialized animations with the player's avatar.

There are so many throwing type animations it doesn't really matter as longa s you can create classifications (over, under, double, etc) that can accommodate the available props.
