I was wondering if it would be possible to incorporate character models (in the form of statues or plaques) to place in a base...or maybe take screen shots and make them into posters/prints. In CoX, I would place symbols or letters on various flags to represent the sg's founding heroes but thought it would nice to actually have a statue or two instead. Maybe it can even be a generic set of monuments where we can set in a plaque that, when clicked, gives a back story (ala character bios).

Base Items
Maybe use the same models as they have in the Costume Shops (assuming they have these) as a base idea?
I remember when Star Wars was cool...a long, long time ago...
I'd like it if there were some basic "building blocks" that you could get and manipulate for free, along with the normal themed furniture pieces. I remember having to make balconies out of 40 desks, with stairs made out of benches, and so on. Just some basic rectangles, cylinders, pyramids, triangles, etc. that can be skinned for the theme or have basic colors added. it would be nice if they could be scalable, proportionally as well as some 3D handles that would allow you to stretch them and rotate them around all three axes. (axises?) I don't know how difficult that would be programming/storage wise, though.
I'd also like the option of applying effects to these objects, like a glow, transparency or reflective surface.
And lights. Flourescent banks, torches, lanterns, lavalamps, Jacob's Ladders, desk lamps, spotlights, indirect sconces and they should all cast actual light and shadows.
Like others have said, if it's merely decorative or structural it should be free or cheap. I don't mind paying for/unlocking items that have use in play like storage bins, health generators or trophies. The basic idea to me is like using the character creator. Appearrance does not affect your powers so it's free/cheap. New powers and abilities you have to earn one way or another.
I would really like to see some items that would be appropriate for a rec-room.
Pool tables, dart boards, video games, juke-boxes, big-screen TV's etc.
Models for these existed in COX but were never made available for bases.
A map table, showing the whole city (at maybe 1:5000 scale), possibly with options for a flat display, a holoprojection, or a model sort of like this: , but of Titan City rather than Singapore ^_^
Points of interest like EdenTech HQ, The Whitehold, and the Central Library could be marked on it.
Perhaps upgrades could be available to use it for finding trouble spots.

To build on the plaque/statue idea along with the above. How about a hologram of a member or generated toon?
I do also hope we can interact with the items in the base, it was quite a hassle trying to sit in the chairs in CoH.
This should also apply to any vendors, trainers, etc in the store. It's lame to just stand there and buy stuff.
The souvenir and badge/achievement system in CoH was very underimplimented. Souvenirs of important story arcs, missions, TF/SFs, even raids should be able to display much like the weapon veteran rewards were. (This may better apply to personal bases that have been mentioned (maybe not by devs)) Badges could be displayed in a case in a lair; SG badges could also be displayed in a similar manner.
Base defenses, assuming they'll be implemented and used in raids (or even just for show), should be more dynamic than turrets. A genre-appropriate NPC (Robot, Mage, Zombie, Soldier) could come out of the woodwork or, if this becomes a thing, alerted from their usual activities. Turrets are cool too, but defenses should be more adaptable to attack.
An overall more responsive base would be nice.
-Enhancement/boost tables should respond to how full they are( E.g. a table of erlenmeyer flasks that have either fewer flasks or empty flasks if the storage isn't full). Same goes for personal vaults.
-Teleporters that give a preview of their destination rather than a picture.
Last but not least, PLEASE be a danger room, even late into the game.

If it could also show the location of SG members I would totally find room for that in the base!
And if not a danger room, at least a target dummy we can pound on.

The Titan Legacy - Defender of the Inner Flame
Ok.. if anyone saw the WarPlot release of Wildstar you'll know that my bar of expectation is raised. Funny thing to me is that that entire system seems better suited to a superhero game.
I hope the devs check that out.

The recent update brings something into this.
What kind of destructible items should there be?
Outside of raids, I can't think of much.
Target dummies that explode and respawn (to test/amuse oneself with on flammable targets) maybe?

In terms of base items, I'd LOVE to see some Seasonal Decorations. If the white-lights pine trees in the Ski Chalet zone had been available as Base decorations, I would have decorated the beejeebers out of my bases for Christmas/Solstice/Yule/Saturnalia!
