Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Autographs

Rereading the very old early parts of the Fishing thread that recently got necro-ed gave me an idea. Or maybe it's a modification of someone else's idea. Anyway, one suggestion in that thread was to have a way for players to collect autographs from NPCs, and to have a badge for getting them all, however many that is.

As a variant on that theme, what if every player-created toon could give and ask for autogrpahs from other PC toons? So like, when you're standing near someone in the game world, you can target another player avatar near you (within the distance you'd have to be to hand someone a pen or whatever, like melee range, but a little farther away is okay) and then click a temp power or something to ask them for their autograph. And then the target would get a pop-up window that asks them to select an option off a list, which options would be "Give Autograph, Deny Request for Autograph, or Trade Autographs". The Trade function being a quick way to simply give your autograph to the the other persona in exchange for them giving you one of their own. People could charge IGC if they want, and there could be different levels of badges for getting different numbers of autographs.

I would limit the toons that can give/request autographs to only level-capped characters, so as to avoid the problem of people making a bunch of toons just to pad their autograph stats, and I would make different NPC's give autographs only by unlocking them in carious ways. NPC heroes that give out task forces and other content might want you to complete the TF, or to complete multiple times in such a way as to have earned all the associated badges, etc. NPCs that show up in missions etc as "actors" (like Doc Quantum etc from the Alignment missions) could perhaps be able to give autographs if you do whatever you need to do to get them to give you one once you've finished the mission. The level-up contacts, if they're caped heroes or "famous" in the game lore, could give you their autographs upon request once you reach the level cap, but not before, etc.

I would want to avoid having any efficient way to collect or distribute autographs in any massive sense, I would make it a strictly person-to-person, face-to-face, one-at-a-time process with no possibility of doing them by email, and no way to trade your autograph of UberDude to someone else once acquired. You'd have an "Autograph Book" window with tabs etc showing your total numbers and whose autographs you have already, with tabs for NPCs and PCs, etc.

This way, once someone dings 50 or whatever the cap is, everyone will immediately want your autograph to add to their collection. You could make announcements in Broadcast like "I just hit 50!!! Come to Atlas Park, I'll be under the statue singing autographs for my ADORING fans for the next 30 min!!!" etc

That is so cool.

That is so cool.

I like that you would restrict autograph givers to a certain level. One could take this a little bit further and say that reputation would determine who asked for autographs as well, so maybe rather than limiting it to character level, you limit it to a minimum reputation level instead.

Also, rather than making it a temp power, it would probably be easier to make it a slash command. So you type /autograph when you have someone targeted within melee range and the receiving character will get a pop-up window with the options you suggested.

I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.

If this is restricted to one

If this is restricted to one level, there ought to be an "Opt Out" toggle switch so a player will not be spammed every time he logs on.

I could see having a "Deny

I could see having a "Deny and Mute all Autograph requests" as well as a "hidden" mode for dodging player-run zone searches for level capped toons.

Come to think of it, that could just get so annoying as to be a bad idea overall.

Edit: On the flip side, what if giving another person your autograph gets you a temporary buff, or a randomized loot drop of some kind?

Would not the loot be the

Would not the loot be the autograph?

The temp buff is interesting. As it would encourage players (encouragement dependent on the size of the buff) to constantly find new players to play with and roll new characters with which to gain the buff. It would be like a PUG offset. To offset the lack of synergy and experience playing with these "Randos" you get a little buff by asking for their autograph.

If influence is allowed to

If influence is allowed to depreciate, then signing autographs would be a good way to lessen the depreciation. And if someone sold your autograph to someone else, you would get a portion of the influence generated by the sale. Because influence is is not just an in-game currency but is the concept of its namesake.

I was thinking that the

I was thinking that the autograph itself would not have a physical existence as an object that could be sold or take up inventory space. You'd just have an "autograph book" menu in your character options or something that has tabs and lists whose autographs you've got, and at least for the NPCs, who's you still needed.

So like you'd just target an NPC or PC, click "Autograph Request" as a power, or type /askautograph in chat, then you'd get their name in your book. No way to buy, sell or trade autographs after they're gotten, that way everyone has to get everyone else's autograph the "hard" way. Then have a badge for getting all of th eNPC ones and maybe a ladder of badges for getting 10, 100, 1000 total PC autographs, etc.

Also, the point of making it a thing that only level-capped toons can participate in makes it a lot harder for people to just make tons of new toons for autograph reasons, but does provide some incentive to make them. I'm not sure how we could handle the problem of trying to give one of your own toons an autograph from another one, unless we want to make that automatic. Like when you hit the level cap with ToonX, all of your other level-capped toons automatically get ToonX's autograph by virtue of being on the same account.

Yeah, I got that. I was just taking your idea and running with it. Autograph sales could be a unique market that we could have fun with.
