This article brings up some interesting points about how goofy a lot of games are.
I hope the devs pay attention and make this game an exception

Frankly, I just hope the game is as gritty and quazi-realistic in the visuals and stories as CoX was. I'm fine with all the stuff that makes little to no sense, I just want to avoid the truly comical material you sometimes find in comics like Archie and Casper the Friendly Ghost, etc.
I want this game to remind me of CoX, Batman comics, the Marvel movies/tv/Netflix stuff, etc and not Teanage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies/cartoons, Teen Titans GO!, and Scooby-Doo.
Inside jokes like "Help Professor Y retrieve the Magna-Psychlotron" are one thing, but the visual design and feel of the game overall ought to remind us of Iron Man and not Howard the Duck.
R.S.O. of Phoenix Rising
Champions was too cartoony (even after turning off black outlines and distance fog). Dcuo was a little better. But a true cartoony game like Wildstar, forget it. Same if it looks like the triangle bodies of many DC cartoons.

The very existence of the taunting tank irritates, for it requires idiotic AI that obeys the taunt.
Honestly, the only ones of those points I'm not fine with are "the hero doing inane sidequests" thing and "People are insane", and the latter can be forgiven in the same points as the first one.
The others are game contrivances because they help to make the game engaging, and I'd rather have that than something boring.
An infinite number of tries doesn't mean that any one of those tries will succeed. I could flip an infinite number of pennies an infinite number of times and, barring genuine randomness, they will never come up "Waffles".
Maybe I'm missing something here...
If you remove all the vicious, violent, determined-to-kill-you-on-sight NPCs along with all the, "find item a to locate item b which leads to item c which contains the hidden clues to locate the motherload while killing everything you encounter along the way" quests, what will be left?
Fishing?
I really like fishing in games, but I would never play a fishing game.

Look I wasn't saying I think these are serious problems that need to be addressed. I was sharing a funny article from a humor web site. I thought you would like it.
Although personally I do find the ordinary criminals who attack superheroes on sight to be a major inconvenience and a serious immersion breaking problem.
Why would they?
They don't do it in the comics.
They almost never attack cops on sight in real life.
Why would they do it in a game.
I mean seriously, ordinary criminals should try not to be noticed by superheroes, and only attack or even flee, when the hero is clearly onto them.
Can that be done?
Am I the only one who wants it that way?
